Sr Manager, Strategic Talent Sourcing

Reporting to the Senior Director of North America Talent Acquisition Delivery, the Sr Manager, Strategic Sourcing will provide direct leadership to a team of Sourcers, responsible for building and delivering global candidate pipelines through continuous research, sourcing and qualifying. As a Sr Manager, Strategic Sourcing you will be leading and driving our approach to cultivating and maintaining of relationships with premium prospects and candidates to deliver upon both immediate and forecasted hiring needs. You will be responsible for executing McKesson’s talent sourcing strategy across all business units. The role will develop and lead sourcing strategies to meet overall business talent acquisition goals. This is a high impact role requiring exceptional partnering skills with demonstrated ability and experience to develop a pipeline sourcing strategy, influence stakeholders, provide insight into talent market to take the best approach, and deliver outcomes. The primary purpose of this position is to support McKesson’s Inclusion, Diversity and Corporate Impact initiatives and to enable the Sourcing and TA Delivery teams to successfully support these initiatives as well.  This role will create research and sourcing strategies to identify and attract top talent with diverse backgrounds and skillsets.


In addition, this job requires frequent collaboration with business unit teams as well as other TA and HR stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in successfully partnering with and influencing extended teams, data analysis expertise, innovative change leadership, understanding of HR systems & operations, and willingness to drive change.


This role includes the capability to develop, execute against, and assess the productivity of numerous sourcing strategies to deliver quality, diverse candidate pipelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Foster, drive and deliver innovative sourcing strategies to identify and execute candidate generation strategies, proactively researching and assessing new recruitment methodologies.
  • Understand competitive landscape influencing available diverse talent. Function as an expert on industry specific diverse websites, associations, blogs, and diverse communities of interest to create multi-pronged sourcing strategies. Influence best practices with team and stakeholders.
  • Build on existing, collective sourcing experience with demonstrated expertise leading the sourcing efforts of passive candidates using innovative sourcing approaches.
  • Conduct external benchmarking to understand competitive intelligence landscape.
  • Project management and design (when applicable) in effective hiring processes/staffing plans to meet changing business needs.
  • Function as an instrumental point of contact for the business, HR, Talent Acquisition Leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Preparation and delivery of monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews for deep dive on TA Sourcing performance and activity for business & stakeholders.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition team and Leaders to ensure successful differentiated hiring is achieved with improved client and candidate sourcing strategies/outcomes.
  • Partner with business and finance/HR to align on methodologies and accuracy of talent demand and headcount management
  • Providing strong leadership, coaching and evaluation to TA Sourcing team
  • Hold weekly and monthly team meetings as well as regular 1:1s with team Sourcers, consistently engage with TA, HR and clients for business continuity and planning
  • Support team members and Talent Advisors in getting the right people, skills into the right roles, including strategic understanding, planning and coaching for the manager on what they need i.e. scoping the hiring. Effectively coach team members to anticipate and minimize risks on sourcing engagements at both micro and macro levels
  • Manage team projects tightly from end to end, ensuring quality assurance on day-to-day recruitment activities and attainment of project deliverables in line with KPIs and Service Level Agreements (“SLAs”) established for the project.
  • Support team in maintenance of accurate, up-to-date information in the CRM (Beamery) through a consistent communication strategy with a pipelined network of prospects
  • Promote McKesson i2Care and iLead culture with active & passive candidates, direct reports, colleagues and stakeholders


Minimum Requirements

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 9+ years of relevant professional experience and 1+ year of supervisory/management experience


Critical Skills

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience developing complex search strategies to identify & attract diverse passive talent and development diverse candidate pipelines using various sourcing techniques (e.g., Boolean search and market data)
  • 3+ years of supervisory and/or management experience
  • Deep Strategic Sourcing and Talent Acquisition delivery knowledge/experience, including innovative sourcing channels and techniques, diversity sourcing etc.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience


Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to develop, document, and distribute diversity sourcing resources and processes to stakeholders
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Analyze effectiveness of sourcing efforts through data analysis and reporting to identify areas of improvement and provide data-inspired recommendations guide decision-making related to diversity recruiting strategies and goals. Ability to develop sound recommendations and solutions.
  • Understanding of recruiting and/or sourcing metrics and reporting standards.
  • Change management experience
  • Expertise in communications through multiple channels, including PowerPoint, email and social media
  • Strong presentation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated capability to stand up/create a new organization in alignment with the needs of the business
