Sr. Manager, Innovation

Remote Boston, MA

A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams’ weekly schedule. 

In this role, the Sr. Manager, Innovation will be responsible for driving new product development, identifying emerging trends, creating groundbreaking strategies, and launching multiple brands that will elevate our position in the market. You will lead a team and collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop and implement innovative ideas that cater to evolving consumer preferences, regulatory requirements, and sustainability considerations in the alcohol industry.

What You'll Brew: 

Strategic Beverage Marketing

  • Devise and execute avant-garde marketing strategies that resonate with target audiences and elevate brand visibility
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop compelling narratives that highlight the unique aspects of our alcoholic beverages
  • Harness market insights to identify trends, consumer preferences, and market gaps, leveraging this data to drive innovative marketing campaigns

Innovative Product Development

  • Spearhead the ideation, development, and launch of groundbreaking alcoholic beverage offerings
  • Cultivate an environment of continuous innovation, encouraging your team members and coworkers to explore novel ingredients, production methods, and packaging concepts
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, suppliers, and external partners to transform visionary ideas into tangible, market-ready products

Entrepreneurial Mindset Cultivation

  • Foster an entrepreneurial culture within the team, nurturing an atmosphere where calculated risk taking and creativity thrive
  • Champion a culture of experimentation, embracing both successes and failures as learning opportunities
  • Stay attuned to industry trends and emerging technologies, proactively integrating them into product and marketing strategies

Team and Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a diverse team of innovation professionals, guiding them towards ambitious goals
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure seamless alignment of strategies and efficient execution
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including wholesalers, retailers, and industry influencers
  • Must be able to influence without authority and manage up regularly to Sr. leadership including the ELT

Data-Driven Insights

  • Utilize data analytics to measure the impact of marketing campaigns and product launches, adapting strategies based on real-time feedback
  • Apply market intelligence to forecast consumer demand, anticipate shifts, and drive preemptive market responses
  • Oversee project budgets, and manage effective tactics and spending

Regular travel in the market to service retailers and wholesalers

What Ingredients You'll Bring: 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a results-oriented consumer product marketing role or marketing-driven firm
  • Strong knowledge of general alcohol beverage industry trends, products, brands, regulations, and completive activity
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience managing successful teams
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster creativity and collaboration
  • Demonstrated track record of successful product launches and marketing campaigns
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and market research methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Alcohol, beverage industry or traditional CPG experience
  • Experience in innovation roles
