Sr. Manager, Communications (Social)

SoundCloud is looking for a Sr Manager for Social with a relentless work ethic and a deep passion for music and culture. The ideal candidate will be an expert in the social media space, comfortable in the world of influencer and content marketing, and constantly pushing themselves and the boundaries around them. 


In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing our narrative at SoundCloud and expanding our social media audience worldwide by leading the overarching strategy of SoundCloud’s organic social media efforts across various social media platforms, from ideation to execution and performance measurement.


This role is highly cross-functional, allowing you to partner with our growth marketing team to deliver on its paid social strategy. Your efforts will make an impact in telling the story of SoundCloud to fans and artists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and spearhead a comprehensive overarching organic social content strategy, supporting existing programs, products, and partnerships across consumer facing social media platforms (current focus on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube) aimed at increasing followers, reach and engagement 
  • Elevate the perceived value of SoundCloud for artists and labels
  • Use SoundCloud social channels to educate music creators and fans on the benefits of SoundCloud subscriptions and convert music creators and fans into paying subscribers
  • Measure performance and influence how SoundCloud drives Monthly Active Users
  • Lead the creation and development of an evergreen editorial calendar, and be an integral collaborative voice in the development of brand marketing campaigns, partnerships and music marketing initiatives
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure that social media strategy is effectively connected to broader company vision, including new product updates, audience and growth goals and overall communications strategy
  • Ensure flawless go-to-market tactical execution across all organic social campaigns
  • Stay informed about social media platforms, digital trends, and forecasts by using research and a data-driven approach to identify opportunities that continuously reinforce a consistent brand narrative
  • Expand SoundCloud’s presence on new platforms, aiming to capture new audiences and build reach 
  • Mentor, coach and develop a direct report as well as manage external agency relationships to ensure alignment with goals
  • Leverage social listening tools to gather insights and inform strategic decisions, enhancing SoundCloud's social media presence and community engagement.


Experience and Background:

  • 8+ years of direct social media experience (brand or agency), preferably in media and/or music
  • Experience managing and owning cross-functional team collaboration and processes while also being an incredible hands-on contributor
  • Demonstrated excellence in written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • High fluency in the world of social media, with the ability to contextualize trends and best practices across all major consumer platforms, specifically Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok
  • Extensive experience utilizing third-party social media management tools (ie: Hootsuite) to drive engagement and streamline multi-platform content strategies.
  • An insatiable appetite for new music, trends and culture


The salary range for this role is $114,000- $140,000 annually. The final salary offered will be determined based on relative experience, skills, internal equity, and location. We also offer a generous total rewards program - read more about additional benefits and perks below!
