Sr. Entertainment Sales Executive

Join our phenomenal team at the Los Angeles Times - one of the most respected Entertainment voices in the country since the beginning of Hollywood. We are looking for a senior seller to help us grow our Television, Streaming and overall Entertainment business. You will be responsible for driving sales in order to meet the overall team goals and the organization's business objectives. This role is remote, but must be local to the Los Angeles market.


Description:

  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets specific to television, streamers, and FYC business. 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maximizing revenue from existing accounts.
  • Meet with clients directly, as well as with their media buying agencies to convey the value of the company across digital display, custom branded content, podcasts, web series, events and various print products.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Understand clients' business needs and objectives, and propose tailored solutions to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and successful delivery of products or services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry developments.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 7+ years of experience in sales
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the digital space preferably in the entertainment industry, including strong relationships with senior decision makers across key television accounts - including corporate comms, acquisition, experiential, tune-in and FYC teams.
  • Strong understanding of the marketplace as it pertains to the news publishing industry and Hollywood trades: where media budgets are currently being allocated, how premium publishers are leveraging their audiences in competitive ways and the must-buys for entertainment brands.
  • Strong ability to maintain understanding of how to track and grow revenue across all products with each major account.
  • Strong ability to stay current on trends, personnel moves, corporate consolidations and overall shifts in strategy at each of their accounts and in the industry overall.
  • Strong understanding of Newspaper and Magazine advertising, is adaptable and can creatively develop premium executions for savvy buyers.
  • The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of programmatic advertising and the various ways in which advertisers are leveraging PMPs to execute their display campaigns.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and business use of a personal car requires automobile coverage, which permits business use

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $85,000 - $95,000 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At The L.A. Times, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
