Sr. Director of Wholesale

Where we need help

  • As Allbirds begins to enter the wholesale world, we need an experienced wholesale leader that can both build the organization and relationships for the long-term while driving business results in the short-term
  • You will help develop the overall wholesale strategy to help deliver on our long range plans. You will build, shape and maintain the Allbirds 3rd party marketplace, ensuring we have high quality partners that are additive to the overall Allbirds business and brand
  • In addition to being responsible for the sales and business results, you will be responsible for account management, customer service, wholesale marketing and wholesale operations 
  • While the current team is lean and nimble, over time, you will be responsible for hiring, developing and ultimately scaling the wholesale org to support the future expected growth in the channel
  • You will lead, engage and develop this team, ensuring they are aligned with Allbirds mission and are ambassadors for the brands and our products when interfacing externally
  • You will develop sales reporting cadences and tools to give senior leadership an ongoing pulse on the channel
  • As we adapt Allbirds to support the needs of wholesale, you will support the GTM team to ensure we are able to serve our customers on the expected wholesale timeline
  • You will work closely with assortment planning team, ensuring we have compelling assortment each season for our retail partners


What are we looking for?

  • We are looking for an experienced and strategic wholesale channel leader who is comfortable and capable of building new partner relationships from scratch
  • Must be comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment, working to remove ambiguity
  • You must be comfortable building cross-functional relationships and processes to ensure wholesale has strong partners across the business
  • We need someone who is prepared to significantly build and scale our new wholesale business, this is not a case of managing an existing mature business
  • We are looking for an analytical and driven leader that can interpret results and trends to inform future business decisions
  • We need a steward of the brand who will represent Allbirds positively in the marketplace  


More practical skills/requirements needed: 

  • 10+ years in sales leadership at a footwear and/or apparel brand
  • 3+ years in a wholesale leadership role overseeing beyond a sales team
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Very comfortable with SPS, Powerpoint, Word, Excel and Cloud Data Room Drives (ie: Google Drive, Box, etc.)
  • Ability to travel as needed to customers and trade shows
