Sr. Director of Corporate Communications

We are seeking the next great leader for our Corporate Communications team, a critical role in helping the overall Global Communications organization achieve its purpose: promoting and protecting Intel's reputation. Responsible for leading and inspiring a team of world-class communicators spanning corporate reputation, thought leadership, crisis and issues management, financial communications, policy communications, strategic media and more, the head of Corporate Communications helps set the news agenda for the entire company.


This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer and, in partnership with the rest of the Global Communications leadership team, ensures that we are delivering holistic communications programs that engage and activate corporate, employee and technology audiences.


The Corporate Communications lead will be expected to role model all Intel values while also providing strategic counsel on an array of areas - including CSR programs, global policy communications, corporate actions and issues. In addition to providing senior strategic guidance, this individual needs to be just as skilled and willing to contribute to key tasks alongside team members and agency partners.


This person will bring a clear point of view on defining corporate programs, be comfortable challenging norms and driving bold initiatives forward - while keeping a keen focus on team health and development.


Responsibilities May include:

  • Play a lead role in landing our pan-Intel narrative and messaging across key company moments and in-between
  • Collaborate across the full communications team, breaking down silos, ensuring we demonstrate fully integrated comms in everything we do and helping bring others along, in our own Communications group and beyond - with strong communications and influence skills
  • Direct, engage, inspire and lead a world-class communications team and agency
  • Own strategic media relations, managing a proactive pipeline of impactful global stories and serving as a company spokesperson where required
  • Counsel senior executives on critical communications issues
  • Amidst a very dynamic environment, quickly set clear priorities, objectives and deliverables on key initiatives with the team and agency partners driving them through to execution
  • Track/measure success of communications campaigns and corporate initiatives


A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Have extensive corporate communications/media relations experience and solid experience serving as a company spokesperson
  • Be a change agent and energized advocate for establishing world-class, proactive communications
  • Be media savvy -- understand how the media works -- and possess a proven track record of excellent media relations experience
  • Possess excellent writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrate an ability to establish a sound point of view and provide firm counsel and recommendations to senior executives
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, instinct and intuition when dealing with the media, senior executives and highly sensitive issues
  • Be a strong strategic thinker who can anticipate and capitalize on opportunities and identify and mitigate potential threats
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong management skills with experience overseeing direct reports
  • Work well under pressure and on deadline
  • Possess strong leadership and management skills
  • Be politically and globally aware


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related.
  • 15+ years' experience in Publicly-traded corporate communications or agency environment, developing/implementing corporate communications programs and working with C-level executives.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Communications leadership experience at a company undergoing massive transformation, while not required, is a plus.

Global Marketing & Communications is responsible for Intel's brand management, end-user product marketing and go-to-market activation strategy for direct and indirect marketing programs worldwide
