Hasbro is seeking a seasoned communications leader to join our dynamic and growing Global Corporate Communications team! The Senior Director of Corporate Communications will be responsible for developing and executing external communications strategies and storytelling on behalf of Hasbro. The person in this highly visible and strategic role, will report directly to the SVP Global Corporate Communications. We are looking for a passionate leader with ability to establish trust with key leaders, inspire others and earn the confidence of a hard-working and engaged team!

 

This position can be located in either Rhode Island or New York.

 

A day in the life as Senior Director, Corporate Communications:

  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with financial and business media, and relevant trade media across consumer products, digital gaming and entertainment businesses.
  • Developing corporate narratives and collaboratively working across functions in complex global organization to drive alignment.
  • Maintaining a firm understanding of Hasbro's business, including broader competitive environment and sector issues.
  • Conducting market and competitive intelligence and analysis; represent external media perspectives to Hasbro leadership.
  • Developing high-impact communication strategies that provide direct support to the company's strategic Brand Blueprint, Purpose agenda and business objectives.
  • Supporting quarterly earnings process, including development of media assets.
  • Working closely with IR to prepare media response statements, presentations, fact sheets, etc.
  • Overseeing development of strategy and content for digital channels.
  • Developing external engagement calendar.
  • Providing support to c-suite leaders for media interviews and event participation.
  • Partner with business publicity teams and global colleagues on reactive and proactive communications regarding our corporate narrative and company performance. You will also serve as an advisor, counselor and coach to communications leaders in the business units and broader leadership in global markets, working to ensure consistent messaging is being used.
  • Act as a central point for the communications teams across brands and businesses to create connectivity.

 

What you'll bring:

  • 12+ years of communications leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and expert in understanding how the media works and how various audiences are impacted and will react to company/brand actions.
  • Proven relationship building skills, and a record of partnering with internal and external teams and operating units to achieve common objectives and support a business plan.
  • Experience developing trusted relationships with media, and developing a broad range of media contacts across the U.S.
  • Outstanding writing, positioning and consultative skills.
  • Firm understanding of intersection between brand and corporate storytelling.
  • Ability to manage a budget.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills with proven track record of communications expertise.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities, including basic understanding of financial statements, ability to identify trends, issues, etc.
  • General working knowledge and understanding of financial media, public equity markets, Reg FD requirements and Wall Street.
  • Able to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Proven ability to deliver quality output while working under pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is required.
