The Senior Digital Designer will develop and drive innovative solutions for digital storytelling across our organic and paid digital marketing channels. This role will work seamlessly with the Senior Manager, Social & Digital and the team, as well as teams across Marketing, Digital & Merchandising, as we continue to grow, evolve, and innovate our digital footprint. They have an affinity for consistency, color use, typography, and a keen eye for subtle details. While exercising a good eye for aesthetics, they can grasp and distill highly complex issues and translate them into clean, focused, understandable solutions. Strong communication skills and ability to stay highly organized is critical. They should be a self-starter, self-motivated, able to work independently, and perform multiple tasks under minimal supervision. As a senior member on the team, they are responsible for brainstorming concepts, sketching wireframes, prototyping mockups, participating in design critiques, refining design directions, and finalizing design details. They will partner with a team of copywriters to build out storyboards and frameworks for large campaign efforts. Familiarity with social/digital video and short-form video storytelling is required, including managing timelines and projects with editors, post-production partners and internal designers. They will identify, document, and communicate design team progress, industry trends, and technical issues. An understanding of, or experience working on, paid media campaigns is a plus, as this role will partner with media and marketing teams intimately to bring Ulta Beauty paid campaigns to life.





  • Develop and lead creative projects for targeted marketing campaigns across organic, paid, and other digital campaigns
  • Produce digital content through the creation of digital ads, GIFs and animations across various platforms
  • Ability to work with video footage, animations, illustrations, etc. is essential
  • Digitally-native creative contributor who understands the complex behaviors and nuances of audiences across social platforms.
  • Highly professional with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
  • Serve as project lead for digital campaign work, thinking through creative consistencies across multi-channel, full-funnel campaigns
  • Responsible for successful project management, implementation of channel strategy, and stewarding business strategies into creative executions
  • Must deliver projects on time in partnership with internal and external partners, and must execute creative scope within budget parameters
  • Implement the Ulta Beauty brand identity, visual and voice into every campaign & communication
  • Serve as a mentor to junior designers; works collaboratively with Operations, Producers, Strategists and Copywriters
  • Utilizes outstanding design skills and demonstrates innovation in creating original solutions
  • Communicates and presents design concepts; builds presentation materials that successfully communicate design concepts
  • Be able to brief and collaborate with outside partners to execute campaigns and deliver assets
  • Demonstrates expert-level knowledge of current trends, technology, design systems and other design influences
  • Shares knowledge, experience, and skill with other designers; works with design counterparts to ensure continuity across digital touchpoints
  • Becomes an expert on the function and capabilities of our platforms





  • 3-5 years in digital visual design for marketing, and/or advertising projects
  • Phenomenal portfolio of work with experience in digital marketing with a love for content creation—design, GIF, video, photography, stop motion
  • Knowledge of all social media platforms and latest trends, with emphasis on paid social
  • A desire & ability to drive innovation, both in technology and in process
  • High level of proficiency with the following programs & languages: Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere and AfterEffects), InVision, Sketch – motion design is required
  • Detail oriented, but able to focus on the bigger picture
  • Efficient time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Design, Media Arts or similar
  • A passion for Ulta Beauty, its products, and its guests is a requirement
