Sr. Data Engineer

Allergan Data Labs is on a mission to transform the Allergan Aesthetics business at AbbVie, the fourth largest pharmaceutical company in the world. Allergan Aesthetics brands are iconic household names that include Botox, CoolSculpting and Juvéderm among others. The aesthetics business is ripe for disruption and we're building a high performing team to do just that.


Our Product Engineering team has been tasked with building a technology platform to service the needs of medical aesthetic professionals and patients. We’re looking for a S. Data Engineer who is interested in working within a startup oriented environment while having the backing of a large company. If that’s you, please read on.


Qualifications

YOU WILL WORK WITHIN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Writing production grade code to process, transport, analyze, and store data within distributed
  • systems.
  • Python, Scala, Java (Strong proficiency in at least 1)
  • SQL (must have)
  • Building Batch and Streaming pipelines with Apache Spark (must have)
  • Experience developing data products using microservices architecture (must have)
  • Developing high performance API to expose data products (must have)
  • Experience with implementing data quality checks (must have)
  • Exposure to serverless technologies (AWS Lambda/Step functions, Google Cloud Functions, Azure
  • Functions) (nice to have)
  • Experience with building and maintaining in-house code libraries for distribution (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of traditional data warehousing (Dimensional Modeling, ETL) (nice to have)
  • DevOps:
  • Experience with building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab CI, Circle CI , Jenkins or
  • other CI/CD tools (must have)
  • Managing infrastructure on AWS and potentially other cloud providers. (nice to have)
  • Managing configuration of systems with frameworks such as Terraform and Ansible. (nice to have)
  • Deploying and Managing and SQL and NoSQL databases. (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with logging and system monitoring solutions (nice to have)
  • System Architecture:
  • Designing and developing new distributed systems and components
  • Integrating both new and legacy platforms using various methods including APIs
  • Understanding of basic system and service level security
  • Writing technical documentation for system components
