Sr. Copywriter/Editor

About the role - you will:

As we elevate Seagate’s brand to new heights, we’re seeking a talented Senior Copywriter and Editor to join our Brand Creative team. In this role, you’ll be primarily devoted to our enterprise B2B segment where you’ll work closely with product marketing managers, campaigns team, PR, and executive leadership to dive deep into our high-priority object storage solution, Seagate Lyve Cloud.


This is a full-time, exempt position that can be hybrid in Portland, Oregon, or U.S. remote for the right candidate. You’ll report directly to the Brand Creative Manager in the Global Marketing Organization and work closely with our Editorial Lead.

Strategic, collaborative, and curious, you’re an expert long-form content creator and passionate storyteller whose words make a brand stand out. From customer case studies and eBooks to white papers, reports, and snappy taglines, you’ve got a knack for distilling complex concepts into something human and relatable. You’ve got a proven track record for tackling campaigns, product launches, landing pages, social media, events, and internal communications simultaneously, without breaking a sweat. You live for a good brainstorm session, presenting ideas to stakeholders, and receiving constructive feedback. You're fluent in tech speak and excel at finding creative workarounds to tired buzzwords. Most importantly, you possess a positive, let's do it energy that your fellow creatives and stakeholders rally around.


What You’ll Do

  • Work in close collaboration with stakeholders to craft copy that aligns with Lyve Cloud messaging and strategic objectives
  • Juggle content requests from various teams, including but not limited to product marketing, campaigns, content marketing, PR, and executive leadership
  • Write long-form content, short-form content, and everything between
  • Proof and edit content produced by other teams to ensure consistency with Lyve Cloud value propositions and Seagate voice/tone
  • Establish rapport with cross-functional co-creators and work together to bring ongoing efficiency to editorial collaboration
  • Become a go-to resource for all things Lyve Cloud (guiding documents, who does what, projects in motion and in the pipeline, etc.)
  • Work closely with fellow writers, designers, and stakeholders to brainstorm concepts and solutions


You’re Exceptional At:

  • Persuasive language and on-brand storytelling
  • Microsoft Office products and collaborative project management tools such as Wrike
  • SEO strategy
  • Proofreading and editing—and have a firm grasp of CMOS
  • Brand voice and tone
  • Managing a project effectively by coordinating with team members and stakeholders
  • Confidently articulating your thoughts and ideas in meetings
  • Listening, note taking, and synthesizing
  • Collaborative brainstorming
  • Planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects and maintaining tight deadlines
  • Embracing progress over perfection
  • Shifting gears when strategy changes course
  • Keeping a cool demeanor under pressure
  • A bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Journalism, or related field or equivilant experience 
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing and long-form content creation, preferably for the tech industry

For Colorado and New York City applicants - Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) and New York City's Local Law 32 of 2022 requires we inform you of the estimated salary range for this position: $78,000- $115,000 yearly.
