What The Job’s All About:
As the Senior Manager of Compliance at Curaleaf, you'll lead efforts to ensure regulatory compliance across our operations in North Dakota, Missouri and Illinois. You'll develop and monitor state-specific SOPs for retail, cultivation, and manufacturing, conduct audits, manage corrective actions, and ensure marketing compliance. Collaborating with key teams, you'll oversee regulatory inspections, support new product requests, and participate in national compliance initiatives. Working closely with the Regional Vice President of Compliance, you'll help maintain adherence to state cannabis laws while upholding Curaleaf’s commitment to excellence across all brands and products.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate regulatory inspections for site, room, or equipment changes, and conduct regular compliance audits across all dispensaries, cultivation, and processing facilities, in collaboration with key teams
- Act as the company’s key representative for state cannabis regulatory examinations and inspections, coordinating responses to findings and proactively communicating any exceptions or concerns to minimize risks
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of state cannabis laws to ensure full compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures
- Develop and monitor state-specific SOPs for retail, cultivation, and manufacturing, ensuring efficient implementation and consistency through continuous oversight and regular employee training
- Collaborate cross functionally to ensure new products and marketing materials meet compliance standards and state-specific regulations
- Enforce compliance with state regulations by following established review guidelines, providing regulatory training to business partners, and developing reports on Key Productivity and Risk Indicators (KPIs/KRIs)
- Partner with Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Retail, and Asset Protection teams to ensure new retail sites are fully prepared and compliant for regulatory inspections
- Clearly and effectively communicate compliance issues and guidance to employees while professionally managing relationships with regulators and inspectors
What You’ll Bring
- At least 2-3+ years of relevant compliance experience
- Proven expertise in interpreting and executing state and federal cannabis regulations, including compliance with key federal standards like HIPAA and FDA guidelines
- A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of workplace health and safety
- Exceptional communication for effective interactions across all levels of the organization
- Ability to travel 40% of the time within the region
Even Better If:
- You have experience or a background in highly regulated industries such as agriculture, horticulture, cannabis, healthcare, pharma, or biotech
- You can use advanced MS Office and Excel skills, combined with excellent communication and a results-driven approach, to meet deadlines, prioritize under pressure, and solve key roadblocks effectively and creatively
