Sr. Art Director

TMA is looking for a Senior Art Director who is an integrated brand marketing pro to join our agency in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX. The Senior Art Director must be a brand steward, and will live to give brands voice and relevance, and bring them to life through scroll stopping social content. The Senior Art Director will comprise the roles of creative visionary, strategist, problem solver, and motivational speaker. The net result will be masterful brand voice across every marketing touchpoint and work that resonates with exactly the right people.

Responsibilities:

  • Handling all art direction duties within a group, from social content to ads to presentation visuals
  • Understanding input from creative directors and clients, and effectively applying feedback to creative executions.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of cultural, design, and business trends
  • Building effective relationships with teammates and clients
  • Maintaining a flexible work schedule, as weekend and extended workdays are sometimes necessary
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the marketplace our clients operate in, strategy, and the competitive landscape


Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years of agency experience as a graphic designer or art director
  • Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field (advertising, graphic design, visual arts, etc.)
  • Experience in social media preferred
  • Strong problem-solving, communications, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to creatively and strategically solve multiple problems at once, under quick deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of brand development, the creative process, and where social media plays a role with some aspects of concepting and big idea ideation
  • Ability to brainstorm in large groups and develop big promotional ideas from beginning to end
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign CS5 or above
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and Keynote a plus
  • Basic animation abilities necessary
  • Solid portfolio, available online
