Sr. Analyst Emission Compliance Strategy

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Business Strategy Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Emission Compliance Strategy Senior Analyst.


The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze compliance changes to short/mid-term vehicle technology applications, sales, and allocation plans to assure Toyota/Lexus emissions compliance.


Reporting to the Emissions Compliance Strategy Manager, the person in this role will support the Business Strategy department's objective to optimize compliance strategy with emissions regulations, enterprise benefits, and the needs of our customers.


What you’ll be doing 

  • Confirm USA and Mexico Toyota/Lexus results for CAFE and greenhouse gas emissions standards and analyze changes to short and mid-term sales/allocation plans to assure emissions compliance. Develop recommended solutions to NA operations including analysis of trade-offs (sales achievement, profit impact, changes in portfolio cadence).
  • Support analysis to evaluate the cost-benefit of off-cycle technology adoption in collaboration with NA R&D.
  • Evaluate future powertrain and vehicle compliance strategies for the mid-term product portfolio. Study the CO2 efficiency of the NA fleet to identify optimal solutions that minimize profit impact from compliance in the Mid-Term Business Plan (MTBP).
  • Support Toyota Credit transactions for Greenhouse Gas (GHG), Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE), and Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) and required analysis.
  • Maintain and upgrade, as needed, emissions modeling and compliance tracking programs.


What you bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE), Greenhouse Gas (GHG), Low Emission Vehicles (LEV), On Board Diagnostic (OBD), Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV), and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS)regulations.
  • Exposure to automotive development, product planning, and/or quality control.
  • Experience in analytical data modeling and analysis.
  • Experience in building concise and compelling communication including leading working groups and presentations to executives.


Added bonus if you have 

  • Engineering degree.
  • Experience with state California Air Resources Board (CARB) and federal regulatory agencies Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) environmental and safety non-profit groups.

This position is based in Plano, TX. Toyota encourages all employees to live within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned work location.
