The space planner is responsible for the day-to-day management of all space within the Massachusetts campus, balancing short-term requests with the longer-term strategic view.
This includes responding to space requests, allocating space, coordinating small and large move projects, project managing small projects and aligning building plans with the master plan.
This individual ensures accurate monthly reporting and tracking of all space on the Massachusetts campus within our facility management database that tracks headcount, seat count, square footage, office/cube distributions, etc.
Critical Responsibilities
- Manage space within the Massachusetts campus in alignment with the Master Plan
- Meet with business unit management and space representatives to document requirements, develop solutions, and execute delivery
- Project management for all move related projects (small, medium and large) within the campus including meetings, schedules, budgets, resourcing, etc.
- Project manage small furniture/space/renovation projects on campus
- Collaborate with the internal space, facilities, and technology teams to continuously improve our space planning process and delivery model
- Integrate global Bose locations in FM Systems for future reporting, tracking and space planning
- Benchmark Bose’s space planning process and technology; track industry trends and make strategic improvements
- Engage as key member of Global Real Estate team providing outstanding internal client service
Qualifications and Skills
- 5-7 years of space planning, project management & move experience with knowledge of furniture systems
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture preferred
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfort with consistent senior leadership engagement
- Highly-driven, resourceful and flexible team player who can execute tasks independently through to completion and excels at building strong relationships with colleagues, clients and vendors.
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent organization, planning and project management skills
- Demonstrated success with process improvement
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Workday or other HR system (link between FM Space and Workday HR system)
- Strong communication skills are required: writing, speaking, computer, finance, and presentation skills.
- AutoCAD and FM Space (or Archibus) space programming experience
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
