What You Will Do

As an R&D Manager in the Emergency Care BU, you will lead a team of Software Engineers on the LIFENET platform to develop innovative cloud software for managing Emergency Care devices and data around the globe. This role will be a part of an R&D leadership team developing products for our LIFENET portfolio. 


This role will include the leadership of a team to deliver on project milestones along with supporting the development of our strategic roadmap by progressing projects through our research process.


Technical / Managerial Responsibilities:

  • You will make decisions under guidance for project level issues.
  • You will leverage strong listening skills and written / verbal communication to influence and convey business, regulatory compliance, and/or technical ideas to customers, employees, peers, external partners, and senior leaders.
  • You will support a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging at a team level in hiring and staff development.
  • You will lead projects and initiatives within the business unit, with responsibility for planning, budgeting, meeting project goals and adequately staffing with talent.
  • You will support and mentor others in complex cooperative efforts across cross-functional teams, influencing one's own technical areas of expertise and building key relationships, to drive innovation and ensure achievement of business goals.


Business Responsibilities: 

  • You will drive financial accountability across direct team. Participate in cost center budget creation, projections, and tracking activities.
  • You will contribute and execute customer facing activities like Voice of Customer and customer centric design in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.


Med Device Compliance: 

  • You will lead a team and cross-functional counterparts to demonstrate compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for a specific project/program.
  • You will follow and set example for others on procedures and design controls.
  • You will review and approve (or delegate) program / project specific technical documentation and deliverables.


What You Need

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or applicable technical field required
  • 6+ years experience required.
  • 3+ years software development experience required.


Preferred Qualifications

Technical Skills: 

  • Good level of understanding of, experience in, and ability to mentor in one's own technical / functional disciplines.
  • C#, Python


Leadership Experience: 

  • 2+ years direct people management experience
  • Talented performance coach who is skilled at providing actionable feedback to team members, setting clear performance objectives and managing team member performance.
  • General knowledge of the healthcare market and competitors.
  • Experience executing a talent and performance management strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate plans and technical information to team members within a business unit.
  • Proven ability to deliver programs or other business goals on time, on quality and within budget.
  • $112,800 - $239,900 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
