Software Engineer

New York, NY

We are looking for a passionate Backend Software Engineer who is enthusiastic about building performant, scalable, and resilient applications that will delight Peloton’s 7 million members across the globe.

You’ll work in a highly collaborative environment to build brand new content experiences and you will team with engineers across the company to lead our software boldly into the future. 


  • Work within an agile development environment to scope, develop and deliver a software experience that realizes the product strategy 
  • Adhere to the highest engineering quality standards to ensure that systems are traceable, performant, scalable, and reliable 
  • Build internal infrastructure and tooling as needed to support product features 


  • 2+ years of software engineering experience 
  • Experience with Kotlin, Java, Python or similar languages 
  • Experience building and scaling out RESTful microservices 
  • Familiarity with accessing, querying and writing to data stores like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, etc. 
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Spring Boot, gRPC 
  • Experience with scaling microservices to hundreds of thousands of clients 

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range 

$136,300—$177,300 USD
