Social Media Manager

Chicago, IL

Verano is seeking a creative and experienced storyteller to join our growing team as a Social Media Manager. The role will be responsible for developing and managing content that drives engagement, audience growth, and increases brand awareness across Verano’s channels. The ideal candidate is an idea machine—someone who has a strong understanding of on-brand language and visual aesthetic, a pulse on trends, cannabis, and an obsession for all things social media. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and grow our social media presence across current and new platforms including
  • Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tik Tok and other relevant platforms
  • Create editorial/content calendars, and publish daily content that builds meaningful and unique connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Copywrite creative, concise content for various mediums that reflect each of our brands’ tone and voice
  • Collaborate with teams across the marketing department - creative, copywriting, digital among others - to build a best-in-class strategy
  • Track and analyze social KPIs and provide weekly/monthly insights that tailor future strategy
  • Assist in overseeing and executing on social-related ops and logistics such as event planning, merch, activation ideation, and more
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • 4+ years’ experience in social media management
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (ex. Sprout, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
  • Exceptional project management skills: ability to own multiple, high-priority or complex projects at once
  • Able to assist with content creation with basic graphic design skills (ex. Canva, Photoshop)
  • Adaptive to change, tight deadlines, and can work with a sense of urgency
  • Experience with photography or videography is a plus, but not required
  • Genuine interest in and passion for the cannabis industry is required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 10 lb. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus.
