Social Media Manager

Want to work for one of the most loved cannabis brands in California? The Social Media Manager will play an integral role in managing the social media accounts across our brand portfolio (Heavy Hitters, Almora, Surplus.) This position will also assist with our digital marketing efforts emphasizing the need for a positive ROI. The position will be tasked with delivering consistent, high-quality content, increasing both our audience engagement and our social following, addressing inquiries, and delivering against campaign objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record across multiple channels and will be comfortable managing complex projects involving cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Presenting monthly content calendars to leadership
  • Developing unique campaigns to drive acquisition/retention
  • Following brand standards for consistent messaging
  • Incorporating brand elements (photography, illustrations, graphic elements, typography and copy) into well-designed and constructed communications
  • Keeping on top of trends across platforms so that content is tailored by channel
  • Adjusting strategies based on ROI, social listening, and monitoring


WHAT YOU'VE DONE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of digital communications/social media experience
  • Must be passionate about cannabis (cannabis industry experience is a plus)
  • Extensive experience managing a social following with a deep understanding of all platforms
  • Experience building an audience and doing so with a consistent theme across content creation
  • Passionate about building engagement and driving conversations
  • Experience with social media management software/planning tools (i.e. Sprout Social)
  • Strong creative background and a proven track record establishing and executing social media strategies
  • Understands the "always on" nature of social media with a willingness to work off-hours as needed to ensure channel security, and timeliness of messaging
  • Experience using design and video editing software (i.e. Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with SEO and SEM is a plus
  • Experience with programmatic ad buying and Google Analytics is a plus
  • Graphic Design experience is a plus
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A good listener able to take constructive feedback
  • Strong attention to detail (triple checks work)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: (ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Creating and developing channel specific, on trend, on brand, and on strategy creative content
  • Executing all social media activities (i.e. posting, sharing, engaging, etc.)
  • Budget planning and resource allocation (including paid media)
  • Developing and executing a consistent visual identity across all platforms
  • Analyzing campaign performance metrics and leveraging data to guide decisions that increase engagement and deepen our connection with followers
  • Proactively working with marketing, design, and external partners to maintain a content pipeline
  • Responding to inquires/comments through social channels
  • Analyzing data to enhance engagement and reporting on the success of campaigns
  • Monitoring competitor activities
  • Taking responsibility for decisions, actions, and results


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to lift, push, pull up to 15lbs
  • Able to work on a computer for eight (8) hours daily
  • Clear verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Able to speak on a phone for eight (8) hours daily
  • Good vision and hearing
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and travel throughout territory (this may be >100 miles in a day)
