Social Media Manager

South Portland, ME

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing & CX, the ideal candidate is passionate about developing and implementing engaging organic social media strategies to increase brand awareness, enhance community engagement, and drive audience growth. This role requires a strong understanding of various social media platforms and their unique best practices, as well as a keen eye for compelling content creation and curation that drives awareness and conversion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned).

  • Develop and execute organic social media strategies that align with the brand's overall marketing objectives and target audiences.
  • Create engaging, on-brand content for various social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest.
  • Monitor and manage customer interactions on organization's social media accounts including comments, inquiries, and messages.
  • Analyze and interpret social media data and metrics to identify key trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that social media strategies are integrated with overall marketing campaigns and initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in social media; identify opportunities for the brand to leverage emerging platforms and technologies.
  • Cultivate and foster relationships with influencers and brand advocates to expand the brand's reach and visibility within the digital space.
  • Implement and manage social media content calendars, scheduling tools, and analytics platforms to streamline processes, maximize efficiency, and enable impactful reporting.

 

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES 

  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and trends.
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to interpret social media analytics and generate insights for future strategies.
  • Creativity and a demonstrated ability to develop original content that resonates with the target audience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience with social media management and analytics tools. 
  • A passion for staying updated with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, required.
  • Proven work experience as a Social Media Manager or a similar role, demonstrating successful management of organic social media strategies and campaigns, required. 
  • 3-5 years of social media experience, preferred. 
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and content optimization, a plus.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Normal office environment with regular computer use. 
  • Occasional local travel for content creation.
