Social Media Manager

GoodRec is on the hunt for a sports-passionate individual to run our Instagram account. You'll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of sports, one community at a time.


GoodRec started 3 years ago with a small community in Brooklyn, New York. Since, we have grown into the largest pickup sports app in the United States. With the GoodRec app, finding a one-off pickup game, league, or tournament near you is fast and easy. All you have to do is tap the app, join a game, and show up ready to play!



What you'll do:

You will play a pivotal role in growing the company’s social media accounts. You will be in charge of engaging our sports communities through Instagram content creation and Reels. Your responsibilities include:

  • Own the GoodRec social media accounts, including the creation of the social calendar, scheduling, posting, and community management.
  • Edit photos and work with photographers to plan the best content in every city where we have games
  • Edit videos and create reels to target a soccer-loving audience
  • Stay up to date with company events and announcements to write creative captions


Requirements

Skills Required:

  • Photo and Video editing skills for social media (Adobe Lightroom, Capcut, Canva)
  • Natural storyteller - Excellent copywriting skills in both long-form and short-form copy, and the ability to channel the GoodRec brand voice
  • Eager, can-do positive attitude and exceptional customer-service orientation
  • Self-starter—able to execute upon multiple projects and against tight deadlines
  • Ability to think outside of the box and create unique social and marketing strategies
  • Collaborative, open-minded and able to work with an international team
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills


Experience/Education:

  • Part-time availability (freelance/fully remote)
  • 1-3+ years in social media or community management
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, or similar levels of experience obtained through work experience.
  • Experience working in a startup, agency, or high-growth environment (preferred but not limited to)
  • Experience creating and executing content for a sports brand with a soccer target audience. 


Compensation/hours:

  • $15-30/hour negotiable depending on experience
  • Part-time hours (10h/week), opportunity to work Full-Time in the future.
