Social Media Editor

The Social Media Editor will strengthen FanSided’s relationship with our current followers and help us find ways to grow the brand to new audiences and markets. We're looking for a sports obsessed creative who’s passionate about sports and social media. This is a great opportunity for someone who's looking to kick off their career in social media. You will work with our digital content team to cover the top stories in sports and entertainment. The Social Media Editor manages the day-to-day posting plans and execution for FanSided and all of its brands, engaging with our social audiences to drive engagement and grow scale. This is a full-time position with competitive benefits working within a collaboratively fast-paced work environment. The schedule will include nights, weekends, and holidays.


What You'll Do

  • Day-to-day management of FanSided's social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok), including posting, creating and optimizing content, sourcing content, and interacting with fans and influencers
  • Develop all social media strategies and audience engagement efforts
  • Write, schedule, and publish captivating daily social content, with a focus on driving traffic and conversion and boosting audience engagement
  • Pitch and create visual content such as graphics and video
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, experimenting with new features/products, and always trying to optimize our channels to get the most out of our pages and fans



REQUIREMENTS

What You Have

  • Experience in digital editorial and/or social media writing and strategy
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Premiere skills
  • Knowledge and love of social media platforms, content strategy and analytics
  • Exceptional copywriting and strong organizational skills
  • Desire to create engaging content
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and multitask at a fast pace
  • Expert knowledge of the sports community and Internet/social media culture


Nice to Have/Advantages

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism/Communications, Marketing, English, Business, or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience
