Social Media Coordinator

Chicago, IL

As Verano’s Social Media Coordinator, you live and breathe social media day in and day out. You are an avid user of all the biggest social platforms – Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok– and know what it takes to develop highly engaging and breakthrough content. This is the perfect role for someone who excels in planning and implementing social media strategy to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts, and drive sales.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage social media content calendars across Verano’s brand portfolio to align with marketing and business initiatives.
  • Create, refine, and publish daily content that builds meaningful and unique connections and encourages community members to take action.
  • Copywrite creative, concise content across various mediums that reflects our brands’ tone and voice.
  • Collaborate with the Verano creative team and/or external partners to develop engaging, original rich media content.
  • Analyze social media metrics and provide weekly reports, analysis, and insights to tailor future strategy.
  • Monitor social trends, industry trends, and competitors’ social strategy.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 2-3 years’ experience managing social media accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (e.g Sprout, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Exceptional project management skills: ability to own multiple, high-priority or complex projects at once.
  • Able to assist with photo shoots, content creation and basic graphic design.
  • Adaptive to change, tight deadlines, and can work with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience with photography or videography is a plus, but not required.
  • Genuine interest in and passion for the cannabis industry.
  • Willing to travel 10-15% to retail locations across the United States.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and must be willing to undergo background check.
