We’re looking for a talented social media content creator and foodie to drive the growth of our Instagram and TikTok channels. As the Social Media Content Creator, you’ll be the face of our brand’s online presence, engaging our audience, and building our brand through high quality and inspiring content with an emphasis on video.


This is a 3-month contract role on the Marketing team, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Integrated Marketing and Communications. Must be based in a Thistle delivery region. 


We anticipate that the person in this role will work approximately 10 to 12 hours per week.


Your application must include:

  • Links to brand social media channels you’ve personally cultivated; or include links to your specific video contributions that are currently live on brand social media pages
  • Three video concept ideas that promote the following: the benefits of plant based diets, Thistle Ambassador program, and our holiday sale   
  • Three brands you believe have an exceptional social media presence


How you'll make a difference:

  • Organically grow Thistle’s TikTok and Instagram presence through the creation of engaging and inspiring video content
  • Create original digitally native video content for organic social media channels at a cadence of 3-4 times per week. Content may be utilized for paid channels. 
  • Partner and collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure social channel native content supports the brand, seasonal narratives and campaign goals.
  • Ideate, create and execute a social media content calendar that aligns with creative direction and supports the brand vision.
  • Develop and implement engaging TikTok and Instagram content concepts and strategies for brand promotion.
  • Utilize a variety of tactics to create compelling videos including b-roll, photography, graphics, GIFs, and platform native tools while staying true to the brand identity. 
  • Deliver social content based on trends, events or user generated content through video, photography, or graphic design.
  • Cultivate the growth of our TikTok and Instagram pages as both branding tools and sales channels.
  • Execute with rapid turnaround times for real-time moments, capture trending moments, editing quickly and efficiently to deliver high-quality work, on-time and with accuracy 
  • Concept and create social first assets at quarterly lifestyle/brand photo shoots; includes possible travel. 


Who you are:

  • Proven success growing and maintaining organic (i.e. not relying on paid advertising) TikTok and Instagram pages with high engagement 
  • Experience creating engaging content for an established CPG brand (food preferred). 
  • A high-quality portfolio displaying a range of quality social content, ideally produced for consumer brands in the food, health and wellness, and sustainability spaces.
  • You have an outgoing personality and can narrate short-form videos that are fun, entertaining, authentic, and informative.  
  • Extraordinary skills in visual storytelling, videography, and video editing, photography, and platform native tools. Graphic design experience is a plus.
  • You are a swiss army knife at identifying trends and opportunities as they emerge in social and quickly ideate and present concepts for content that stay true to the brand while participating in online dialogue.
  • You’re a master of storytelling with the ability to ideate, build, shoot, and edit effective stories that match the quality of each social platform.
  • Ability to creatively source props or other items needed for making strong, compelling content.
  • Must be comfortable and able to self-art direct video shoots and design within the brand's identity and maintain consistency across each project.
  • Must be comfortable eating and drinking Thistle products on camera (Yes, you will receive regular Thistle deliveries as part of the role!).
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and eager to continue to learn and evolve in other ways to make social-first content.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and adapting quickly to change.


The salary range for this role is $4,000 per month, and represents the company's good faith salary at the time of the posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.
