Social Media Consumer Lead

As Canva’s Social Media Lead (Consumer), you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy that reinforces our brand and values, and that elevates and celebrates the stories of our community. You’ll work collaboratively with peers across brand marketing, creative, PR & Comms, growth marketing and more to position Canva as a thought leader in design, and drive awareness, adoption and affinity across our 65+ million users. 

We’re looking for a creative and strategic storyteller who can help develop high impact programs that resonate with our consumer audience across all social media platforms:

  • You’ll live and breathe social and cultural trends and be a fountain of knowledge when it comes to social platforms, viral campaigns, emerging conversations, brands, tools and social insights.
  • You’ll have a passion for video content and understand the tactics and strategies to cut through the social algorithms. 
  • You have an analytical mindset and the ability to develop an in depth understanding of the consumer audience. 
  • You have excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage complex and competing priorities
  • You’ll be a motivated self-starter with the ability to drive stakeholder collaboration and be a key contributor to Canva’s global mission to empower the world to design and do the most good possible.

What You'll Do
  • Own the consumer social media content calendar; develop and brief content to support marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Set, measure and report on KPIs for social media always on and campaign strategies.
  • Continuously evolve our content strategy through data and analytics. 
  • Act as the brand guardian for all consumer social media content across all channels, ensuring we establish a strong tone of voice on a global level. 
  • Monitor social media trends and the competitive landscape to create strategic decisions for Canva’s brand. 
  • Bring innovative and creative solutions to our social media strategy to establish Canva as the most loved brand.

Who You'll Be
  • 5-7+ years experience in social media content strategy and execution.
  • A creative thinker with hands-on experience creating content for brands.
  • A passion for creating content that inspires, educates and entertains.   
  • Expert knowledge of social media networks, and how best to leverage them (Including, but not limited to; YouTube, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook, Instagram). 
  • Strong at planning, organising, prioritising, and executing simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to manage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching others. 
  • Able to balance the big picture with short term needs and initiatives.
  • A love for data and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • A self-starter with tenacity for execution and delivery.
  • A love for fast-paced and ever-changing environments.
