OutKick is looking for a Social Media Associate to join our team! You are a crucial member of the team as you help to produce content for our social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the OutKick site.


A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Post and schedule social media content on Instagram and Twitter
  • Pitch, develop and execute new video ideas in a daily and breaking news environment
  • Contribute ideas for day-to-day content primarily around NFL, NBA, and College Sports, but not limited to NHL, WNBA, MLB, Soccer, Gaming, Betting, and more
  • Curate OutKick’s social media feed with news content surrounding sports and entertainment.
  • Work with contributing talent to develop social segment ideas and bite-sized content
  • Cover a range of video content including breaking news and features
  • Collaborate with other social media producers to develop a social strategy, write and produce videos
  • Reach out to the assignment desk to effort permission for content
  • Aggregate OutKick’s social media metrics across all platforms to keep track of viewership metrics
  • Coordinate and pitch new articles to enhance original video posts and build an audience
  • Plan ahead to edit/produce social media content for specific initiatives and events
  • Participate in broader strategic discussions regarding content and audience engagement


WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Extensive knowledge of sports, pop culture, entertainment, and how different genres of content feed into their respective internet subcultures
  • Exceptional eye for what goes viral online while thriving in a fast deadline-driven timeline
  • An eye for vertical content and how to work media for mobile devices
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
  • Ability to scope out trending topics and viral stories and package them as consumable social media content to be shared online
  • Ability to collaborate with video editors and producers if and when Outkick needs to share multimedia pieces on its social media, as well as get gameday content produced in real time as games unfold
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $40,500.00-52,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
