Social Media & Community Specialist

Cloudhead Games is the veteran VR studio behind the multi-award winning titles, Pistol Whip, an action-rhythm shooter (GOTY, DICE Awards) and the fantasy adventure series, The Gallery (GOTY, VR Awards.) Cloudhead has partnered multiple times with industry legend Valve to create tech demos, with the most notable being Aperture Hand Lab, a humorous Valve Index controller demo set in the Portal Universe. Always innovating, Cloudhead is also known for its early solutions in VR locomotion/comfort with snap turns and teleportation, as well as VR motion capture and hand interactions.

Cloudhead Games is a fully remote company working Pacific Time Zone hours.

As the Social Media and Community Specialist at Cloudhead Games, you will have the creative freedom to create social media content that reflects the tone of our games and resonates and engages our community. Always on top of trends, this passionate individual will work with the Marketing team to strategize on campaigns while suggesting areas to improve our platform and community growth, influencer relationships, and build out our overall social media presence.

What you would do:

  • Create engaging content across all of our social media and community accounts to meet specific objectives, and help us build our presence across all platforms (e.g. TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), Twitch, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, Steam Forums, YouTube, Snapchat, Threads, etc.) 
  • Monitor trends and best practices, tools, and applications, and leverage them to improve our content, brand presence, and reach across social media and community platforms
  • Track and analyze key social media metrics and provide regular reports to management and the Marketing team, suggesting areas for improvement and growth
  • Liaise with the Visual Designer and Video Producer on the creation of content, including static assets, templates, GIFs, short and long-form video and more.
  • Assist the Marketing team with drafting copy/content for the Cloudhead Games website (blogs), store platforms (store/news posts), and managing the email marketing needs of our campaigns (newsletters).
  • Work closely with the marketing department to strategize, plan, and manage campaigns for livestreams to leverage the brand and increase exposure of our IPs and their updates
  • Work with our Community Support Specialist to create and manage engagement strategies to connect with our online communities by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and with the appropriate tone of voice for the particular IP
  • Work with the marketing team to leverage influencer marketing opportunities, manage influencer and creator relationships, and create campaigns that reflect our particular IPs


What you’ll bring:

  • A love for games; an understanding of the gaming culture and the development cycle 
  • 3+ years of experience working in a social media and community role in the games industry 
  • Thorough understanding of how to develop a social media strategy and creatively create compelling content for different IPs that each have their own voice and tone
  • Experience and knowledge of social media and community platforms and services, such as Discord, Reddit, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Linktree, Bitly etc.
  • Willingness to be in a VR headset several hours per week, and a passion for learning more about VR games
  • Understanding of the creative feedback process, with the ability to apply detailed tweaks to copy and content
  • Knowledge of the overall video game influencer community (specific relationships with creators are a bonus!)
  • Loves data: understands the customer journey/funnel, UTM parameters, and tracking features for campaigns, and enjoys finding different ways to action on these data findings
  • Ability to be organized, be proactive and be able to pivot quickly

The salary range for this position is CAD $60k-$80k.
