Social Content Creator

Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Social Content Creator for its in-house, full-service agency and studio, WoW Studios. Our growing team of passionate and collaborative humans is focused on best-in-class advertising, storytelling, and consumer experience for all of Whirlpool’s brands including KitchenAid, Whirlpool, JennAir, Maytag, and Amana. We’re committed to increasing and elevating Whirlpool’s output of campaigns, content, design, experiences, and digital innovation across all consumer touchpoints (in-store, film, social, digital, experiential, etc). 

WoW Studios is located in the historic Reid Murdoch Building at the edge of Chicago’s Riverwalk and at Whirlpool’s Global Headquarters in Benton Harbor, MI.


In this role you will focus your time and efforts on creating, shooting, and editing video and photo assets for Whirlpool brands paid and organic channels across social platforms. You will be a hands-on video and photo content creator who will both create and support the content development. You’ll use your passion for video content creation and your deep knowledge of social media platforms to elevate the quality of Whirlpool's content across social.

You will work alongside our in-house studio team of producers and art directors to support our creative, social strategy, and brand teams. Along with a producer, you'll be responsible for shooting, concepting, and directing video and photo shoots that position Whirlpool products, and the company as a whole, for all relevant audiences including consumers, employees, partners, investors, and the press.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Demonstrate ability to create elevated social media content for an array of Whirlpool brands
  • Produce and shoot organic and inventive TikTok/Instagram content that drives engagement
  • Ability to bring new and relevant content ideas to the table
  • Create and execute content based on social media strategy by shooting, editing, and creating still images, video, and graphics across all social media platforms with a primary focus on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Pinterest
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and features across all social media platforms to keep Whirlpool’s brands relevant and create trending content.
  • Stays informed on social media trends, innovations, and changes
  • Concept and create original still and video content ideas that align with the brand’s messaging and target audience
  • Collaborate with the creative team to write scripts and create storyboards for content
  • Must be a self-starter, with a proven record of working independently
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a critical mind
  • Creativity and a passionate interest in film and video editing
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Great communication skills, both written and oral
  • Scripts, produces and edits ongoing short-form video for paid and organic content distribution
  • Creates photo and video content; works directly with our team/department leads and Creative Director to create any needed product or lifestyle photo/video shoots
  • Maintains a working knowledge of company products to communicate with customers effectively

Minimum Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in a social content creator role on the brand or agency side
  • Excellent knowledge of social media best practices
  • Portfolio of produced video and photography social media content.
  • Familiarity with Canon C70 and Canon R5
  • A designer's eye
  • Expertise with Adobe Premiere
  • Someone who lives on social with an understanding of what works and what doesn't, especially on Tik Tok

Preferred Skills and Experiences

  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced and changing environment with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • An understanding of what goes into making compelling and engaging social content for brands
  • Business-savvy creator who knows how to produce product assets that help market and sell products
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with GoogleSuite or similar programs
