Social Content Associate

Los Angeles, CA

The Ringer seeks a social content assistant. The ideal candidate will be creative and self-motivated, and possess experience in Adobe Premiere, and Photoshop. Strong writing skills and a sharp editorial eye are required, an understanding of social and digital media is a necessity, and the desire to produce ever-improving content is paramount. Familiarity with the existing social video landscape is required, as is the ability to ideate around how The Ringer differentiates itself from the pack.


What You'll Do

  • Handle direct-to-social content distribution for Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Work closely with editorial, audio, and video teams in creation of all social production
  • Act as social lead or edit support for our full range of content production
  • Create weekly programmatic social content across all platforms
  • Supply preproduction and research for social video content and original social-first content
  • Help manage a multi-platform content calendar that aligns with current priorities
  • Most importantly, make smart, creative, shareable work you’re proud of


Who You Are

  • Proficient in creating timely and reactive social content with an understanding of how to optimize by platform
  • 2+ years of experience creating content for media or brand
  • Capacity to work and react quickly in a digital news environment
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive under pressure, which may involve working evenings and weekends
  • Deep understanding of news and story lines, with sound journalistic ethics and judgment
  • Expertise with Adobe Creative programs, specifically Premiere and Photoshop
  • Strong writing skills, including a capacity for SEO-friendly headlines and descriptions
  • Extensive knowledge of and curiosity about sports and pop culture, specifically the NFL and NBA
  • Collaborative personality with strong communication skills
  • A desire to be challenged and to improve
  • Experience in digital video/media
  • An enthusiasm for The Ringer’s content
