Chemours is seeking a Site Environmental and Process Safety Management Lead to join our growing Operations team! This position will report directly to the Plant Manager at our Louisville, KY location.


This position consults, analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations to site management regarding facility environmental, process safety management, and security strategies. Develops and leads planning and resource allocation for successful implementation of specialized and routine projects. Interacts with internal and external resources to perform benchmarking to improve and expand site functional capabilities.


The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage/own compliance with regulatory and corporate Environmental and PSM requirements
  • Manage timely and accurate reporting of regulatory data, including but not limited to the following programs: TRI, Tier II, DMR, Water Withdrawal, Annual Waste Report, Title V Annual Compliance Certifications and semiannual reports, RMP, Annual Emissions Inventory, and Corporate Responsibility Commitment goals. Prepare, update, and maintain plans, permits, and procedures.
  • Manage the Site Process Safety Management Program - provide strategic direction; set expectations, provide guidance to site PSM Committee
  • Evaluate projects and upcoming changes for impacts to Environmental or Process Safety Management Systems
  • Manage compliance with EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) training requirements, including developing and delivering material where appropriate
  • Audit site systems to identify opportunities to strengthen existing programs, lead EHS incident investigations, and implement systemic corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Site representative/liaison - interface regularly and build relationships with Corporate EHS Networks, state or local agencies, industry partners, and local community; provide knowledge sharing and opportunities for site visits and activities
  • Provide backup and support to other EHS functions, including: Safety and Health, Security, Emergency Response, and Fire Protection
  • Support and advance Organizational Health to build trust and deliver on business goals


The following is required for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS or Engineering programs preferred, with preference to Environmental or PSM Focus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in EHS&S (Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability) Management
  • Exceptional and proven communication skills, both oral and written
  • Independently proactive to impart compliance and enforce adherence to all EHS&S regulations while building and maintaining rapport with all levels of personnel
  • Working knowledge of EHS&S rules and regulations


The following is preferred for this role:

  • Experience in project leadership/ management and continuous improvement (Six Sigma or Lean)
  • Current professional certification – PE, CHMM, CSP, CPP, etc.
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing operation
  • Experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance program development – including PSM leadership and Emergency Response

Pay Range (in local currency):

$105,280.00 - $164,500.00

Annual Bonus Target:
