Senior Vice President Category Management

Plano, TX

The position will focus on creating strategies to leverage the company’s overall size and scale leading supplier relationship and performance management with suppliers and coordinating regional sourcing opportunities working with the procurement leadership team members and senior business leaders and stakeholders. The position will also serve as the center of expertise for sourcing strategies supplier performance and relationship management and key developments within agreed categories.


Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business supply chain management M.B.A degree preferred.
  • Possess at least 10 years of category management leadership.
  • Professional certifications preferred e.g. CPSM CIPS C.P.M. or evidence of continued professional growth.
  • In-depth knowledge of Procurement and fundamentals.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with key business stakeholders and 3rd party vendors.
  • Inner drive to accomplish goals and not deterred by obstacles.
  • Capacity to develop innovative strategies and solutions creative problem solver.
  • Contract negotiation and ongoing management skills.
  • Facility Construction and Project Management category knowledge.
  • Analytics ability to mine data to drive in depth analysis.
  • Building and managing diverse supplier relationships.
  • Interface with all levels in the organization.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create a working environment that encourages high performance and innovation.
  • Develop a vision for Category Management including multi-year roadmap aligned with business objectives and CPO priorities.
  • Remove roadblocks to enable the delivery of procurement activities.
  • Promote compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality’s code of conduct.
  • Lead the development of category strategies including category segmentation with input from Category Managers procurement team members and business requirements from key stakeholders.
  • Communicate and implement category strategies across the business.
  • Coordinate strategic sourcing efforts for owners / properties and categories working closely with sourcing teams.
  • Establish and build a preferred supplier network and drive preferred supplier utilization by working closely with the business.
  • Develop Supplier Performance Management (SPM) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.
  • Establish and maintain robust supplier relationships with preferred suppliers to deliver service cost improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers to identify cost saving and service improvement opportunities.
  • Run / facilitate SRM program and prepare meeting deliverables own the key supplier relationship and act as a point of escalation where required.
  • Provide market intelligence updates and local insights.
  • Provide insights on where key suppliers are going / evolving and recommend and research alternate products / offerings.
  • Develop TCO should cost models communicate savings and category value levers.
  • Serve as key lead in supplier negotiations and recommend negotiation tactics and best practices.
  • Work closely with Procurement operations to leverage internal tools and systems ensuring a consistent way of working to drive team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and functions.
  • Manage and influence multiple stakeholders throughout the end to end procurement process.
  • Develop and deliver communications with clarity and impact ensuring consistent messaging.
  • Encourage innovation and bring new best in class ideas and approaches to the table for developing and executing category strategies and working within the supply market to ensure Aimbridge meets or exceeds objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments including Finance Operations IT HR Project Management etc. for delivery of category strategies.
  • Work with Aimbridge Legal Counsel to ensure consistent templates and fall back language to enable effective negotiations and risk mitigation.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills utilizing continuous improvement techniques.
  • Utilize change management techniques to drive the development and utilization category strategies and preferred supplier network.
