Senior Software Engineer

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Contribute to the Philips Remote Patient Monitoring venture as a senior software engineer. Philips is a global health technology company where many of the best and brightest developers can openly collaborate to build a more connected and healthier society.


You are responsible for

  • Developing software as part of an agile development team. You will actively contribute to all aspects of agile software development: planning, architecture, development, configuration management, testing, integration, verification
  • Collaborating with other experienced colleagues and participate in diverse, technology-driven projects in a highly flexible, agile and innovative environment
  • Acting on feedback from customers and internal product representatives to build software to transform people’s healthcare experience
  • Collaborating with product owner, marketing, and technical teams to create solutions that address a wide range of customer needs
  • Producing designs, requirements and effort estimates to complete projects
  • Serving as a mentor to junior team members in the implementation of the solutions
  • Co-developing the applications with various Software team(s) across the Philips organization as well as with external stakeholders.


You are a part of

Philips Remote Patient Monitoring Venture team, that is redefining healthcare through innovation in telehealth. This innovation is developed by cross-functional agile scrum teams working together to deliver that mission. The teams are characterized by a strong drive to improve continuously and empowered to work autonomously, while still supporting cross team learning, knowledge sharing, and the overall business objectives.


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa. 
  • Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in computer science, engineering or similar technical discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years work experience in software engineering
  • Expertise in full stack web development
  • Strengths in C# and/or Java web development
  • Knowledge of Angular or similar frameworks is an advantage
  • Experience in cloud and micro-service architectures
  • Test automation practices such as TDD or BDD
  • Experience with federal information processing standards and other relevant security standards
  • Knowledge of regulated industries
  • Comfortable in an Agile development environment
  • A team player, eager to invest in personal and team growth
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and creative thinking skills. A problem solving and pragmatic attitude
  • Excellent communication skills to present designs to business stakeholders.
