Nielsen Global Media collects billions of data points on what consumers watch and buy. We study consumers in more than 100 countries, and help our clients globally identify unmet needs, develop new products and deliver them in an engaging way. Developing high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility using tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product. Develops software solutions by studying requirements documents and user stories, conferring with product owners and leaders, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.

Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code. Improves operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures. Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment, and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.

Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.

Tools Used: Java, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Spark SQL and Streaming, SQL, Cloud (including AWS), Docker, RDBMS (such as Postgres), Linux, Shell scripting, GitLab.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with a technology focus (foreign equivalent degree acceptable) plus
3 years of experience in software development. This must include:
3 years of experience in/with: in Java and Spark.
2 Years of experience in: AWS, PL/SQL, Git and ExtJS.
1 year of experience in: Docker, Shell Scripting, and React.
