Senior Public Relations Manager

The Senior Public Relations Manager cultivates and maintains strong, proactive, two-way relationships with key industry influencers that result in positive assessments and coverage for the company and its businesses. They execute aggressive media pitching, executive interview and speaking programs, providing prep materials, coaching and counseling to ensure that presentations and interviews are “on message.” Additionally they maintain strong, leverageable knowledge of competitor moves, market dynamics, and customer issues that enable competitive PR/AR moves, as well as manage, direct and motivate agencies to execute against stated plans and objectives.


This role also includes managing measurement and evaluation of long-term and short-term effectiveness and recommend improvements. The scope may be global, regional, sub-regional or local/country. Lastly, they will ensure work aligns with company’s brand identity and messaging framework.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, drive and evaluate complex PR/AR strategies and programs in support of business objectives or revenue targets.
  • Prepare news and launch activities, including coordinating media and analyst interviews, tours, events, generating releases, presentations, and other materials as appropriate.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with top media, analysts, and industry leaders (business, national, global).
  • Provide media and spokesperson training for key execs and sales leadership as needed.
  • Set or lead PR/AR strategies, policies, standards, and direction.
  • Recognized as an authority and thought leader on PR or AR matters, and frequently called upon to handle sensitive issues or relationships.
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of innovative PR/AR principles and practices across the company.
  • Manage and motivate agencies to deliver on message, on time, on budget.
  • Functional or department budget management.


Education and Experience Required:

  • BA or BS in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration.
  • 10+ years of experience in PR, AR, or a combination of marketing and communications disciplines.
  • Individuals with cloud communications experience preferred
  • Strong executive communications experience with high sensitivity to being in a fast-paced environment


Knowledge and Skills:

  • Superior writing and editing skills - recognized for "near perfection" writing and editing and often asked to edit the work of others.
  • Strong oral communications skills; ability to think on feet.
  • Senior "storyteller" - ability to take complex concepts and messages and transform them into an audience-resonating story.
  • Organization and program management skills.
  • Ability to link PR/AR plans and activities to business results.
  • Well-developed analytic skills (measurement, ROI).
  • Comfortable as a spokesperson for the company.
  • Fluency in local language and English.
  • High levels of tact and diplomacy.
  • Agency and budget management.
  • Consultative skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the company top to bottom, including most senior company management.
