As a Senior Product Design Manager at Ro, you will manage a team of product designers responsible for defining patient-facing experiences for our core product verticals (Ro Man, Body, Derm, and Fertility). In addition to being accountable for the growth and development of your product design team, you’ll be responsible for driving the overall design quality of your team's day-to-day design work - ensuring alignment between our business objective, our brand voice, and our patient’s expectations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage a team of ~4-5 Product Designers across Ro’s Core Product Verticals - Ro Man, Body, Derm, and Fertility
  • Ensure that your team is producing and delivering high-quality, user-centric product design that is considerate of structure (information architecture, interactivity), appearance (UI, visual design) and voice (tone, copy)
  • Push your team to embrace standards, while challenging assumptions and deepening hypothesis-driven design thinking
  • Facilitate a productive design workflow week by week - running design critiques, weekly goal setting, ad-hoc workshops, and design jams
  • Inspire and empower individual designers to learn and grow to reach their full potential
  • Work through all aspects of design from research, ideation, UX architecture, flows, and interactions to wireframes, testing, and polished visual design with your team
  • Collaborate with other managers to create a cohesive and collaborative environment across domains

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience managing effective teams of Product Designers and similar design roles
  • Systems thinking - Experience working with design systems and an ability to coach a team of designers on when and how to utilize and evolve components
  • Design chops - A background in visual and interaction design and/or a strong sense of structure, hierarchy and balance
  • Mentorship & coaching - you're adept at giving and receiving feedback that improves design outcomes and fosters learning. You are obsessed with creating the right circumstances and conditions for design to deliver value, and for individuals to create meaningful, career-defining work.
  • Leadership & collaboration - As a leader, you deploy your team in a way that shares decision-making, encourages ownership and autonomy, and drives engagement. You recognize great design work and inspire others to achieve higher levels of excellence
  • Creative problem solving - A deep understanding of user-centric problem-solving, design thinking and full cycle product development. Your knowledge is rooted in experience as an expert practitioner of multiple design disciplines, which may include: service design, user experience design, interaction design, information architecture, user interface design, visual design, research, and others
  • Human-centricity - Empathy for our patients, as well as teammates and internal users of our products (e.g in-house healthcare professionals & care team members)
  • Experience in the healthcare field is not required, though a strong growth and systems mindset is

We've Got You Covered:

  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance + OneMedical membership
  • Healthcare and Dependent Care FSA
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Wellbeing + Learning & Growth reimbursements
  • Paid parental leave + Fertility benefits
  • Pet insurance
  • Student loan refinancing
  • Virtual resources for mindfulness, counseling, fitness, and physical therapy

The target base salary for this position ranges from $194,200 - $231,000 in addition to a competitive equity and benefits package (as applicable).
