Senior Motion Graphics Designer

Los Angeles, CA

We are looking for a talented, self-motivated motion graphics designer, experienced in creating graphics for theatrical trailers, television spots, outdoor displays, social media and home video for Universal Films marketing campaigns. They should have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. This role is primarily a production motion graphics position with opportunities to work on creative assignments. The hours are 1-10 pm, with occasional overtime if needed.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, create and animate offline and finishing projects for theatrical teasers, trailers, TV spots, home video as well as network promos and social media graphics.
  • Follow excel translation charts to localize trailer graphics in multiple languages for numerous international territories.
  • The ability to do create visual effects graphics, which may include tracking in 2D and 3D, greenscreen, rotoscoping and compositing.
  • Take direction from Creative Directors, Art Directors, Producers, Editors, Coordinators and Clients.
  • Must be comfortable working in a structured workflow, using uniform naming conventions and procedures that are designed for everyone to jump from one project to the next with ease.
  • QC all graphics before delivery.
  • Each designer is expected to take ownership of projects and execute with pride.
  • Streamline vendor project collects for use by internal graphics team and troubleshoot related technical issues.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years recent relevant experience with motion graphics, typography, design, and 2D/3D animation within a creative operations marketing team.
  • Must have demo reel with breakdown and an explanation of your project involvement.
  • Must have good design, layout, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven team environment.
  • Familiar with HD, 2K, UHD, vertical HD and other various resolutions, frame rates, and pixel aspect ratios, etc.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Software (primarily After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
  • Advanced knowledge of Cinema 4D and related modules.
  • Familiar with Mac computers, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams messaging apps).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of Maya is a plus, but not required.
  • Stereoscopic knowledge
  • Knowledge of Nuke, SynthEyes, and Maya’s Dynamics, Particles and Effects.


Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000; bonus and LTI eligible
