Senior Marketing Manager

Remote New York, NY

Universal Standard is looking for a talented CRM & retention marketer to join our fast-growing team. In this key role, you will own the strategic vision for expansion of our loyalty and retention efforts, including but not limited to building out a robust loyalty program and building on our current email strategy. You will help increase customer LTV by evolving our email/SMS channel and increasing the number of times each customer purchases. This role will be focused on growing our revenue via email, SMS, loyalty program, and referral programs across all sales channels. You will work with the marketing and ecommerce team to successfully execute your vision. The successful candidate will be equal parts creative and analytical, delighting our customers with new experiences while measuring the effectiveness through advanced analytics. They should have a strong understanding of customer research and segmentation, and be able to turn insights into results. The ideal candidate has a passion for Universal Standard’s “inclusivity for all” mission, is excited by a start-up environment and scaling fast, and has proven experience to think strategically and execute on a daily basis.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage and execute CRM for Universal Standard - including email, SMS, loyalty and retention
  • Expand on current email program, enhancing email trigger efforts (Klayvio & Bluecore platforms) by developing and executing our segmentation strategy that leads to greater purchase frequency
  • Grow our 1st party database and manage SEO
  • Evolve email/SMS segmentation, contact and testing strategy, inclusive of lifecycle email/SMS, partnering with marketing on the development of creative and messaging
  • Develop key performance indicators for the loyalty and email programs and set up standard reports to communicate progress that allows cross-functional teams and executive leadership to glean insights from email, SMS, loyalty and retention tactics
  • Create, refine and help optimize direct-to-consumer marketing—across email, SMS—including strategy, messaging, reporting, and daily monitoring
  • Partner with marketing, operations, and dev teams to optimize site based on growth and CRM insights and initiatives, adapting a test and learn strategy to improve performance
  • Ensure alignment with paid acquisition channels and site experience to drive consistency across consumer touchpoints.
  • Improve engagement and conversion metrics throughout the marketing funnel
  • Drive brand and product advocacy and customer reviews, leveraging loyalty, CRM initiatives and referral program
  • Develop a budget and operating plan for all retention programs
  • Manage all CRM vendors and serve as the Universal Standard point of contact
  • Partner with the Ecommerce, Merchandising, and Design teams to develop retention and LTV insights and actions that results in hitting corporate sales and profitability goals
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of new technology, emerging products and platforms, and make recommendations on those to invest in which will have a positive ROI on the business
  • Be the brand expert for all consumer data-related questions and insights
  • Communicate regularly and effectively to executive leadership to gain buy-in and support


Who You Are:

  • 4-6 years’ experience
  • An experienced marketer using data and metrics to drive improvements
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and CRM
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Experience building and leveraging customer segmentation to deliver relevant offers and experiences
  • Experience owning program strategy and end to end delivery of cross-functional projects
  • Strong ability to influence
  • Excellent communication skills
