Senior Manager, Distribution Center Operations

Charlotte, NC

The Senior Manager, Distribution Center Operations at our Charlotte, NC warehouse is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the order fulfillment process within an e-commerce company whose warehouse operations are managed by a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider. The role involves managing inventory, coordinating with the 3PL, and ensuring timely and accurate order processing. 

 

This position reports to the VP of Fulfillment and is based on-site in our Charlotte, North Carolina warehouse.  

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Manage the 3PL relationship, establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with the 3PL, and acting as the primary point of contact and liaison between the 3PL provider and IPSY 
  • Communicate effectively to ensure seamless coordination and alignment with the company's fulfillment goals, and clear policies to team members and business partners 
  • Establish and maintain quality control standards to ensure the accuracy and condition of products before shipment, ensuring all issues are escalated appropriately, along with recommendation and/or resolution status 
  • Manage performance goals and objectives to exceed customer expectations through timely execution, accuracy, and quality, while maintaining financial performance to budget 
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement 
  • Proactively identifying and leading process improvement initiatives and Lean tools, including partnering with the 3PL team to give feedback and drive improvements 
  • Act as the primary information source for the team, while maintaining compliance and consistency and taking corrective action when needed 


What We are Looking For: 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field a plus 
  • 10+ years of proven experience in D2C eCommerce order fulfillment and 3PL management in a warehouse environment 
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and experience managing quality (QA/QC)  
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills 
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software  
  • Ability to analyze data using Excel pivot tables and WMS to make informed decisions 
  • Strong understanding that data rules, and high comfort conducting analysis to make recommendations and decisions 
  • The ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with appropriate tact with both internal and external business partners 


Bonus if You Have: 

  • Experience with cosmetics / beauty 
  • Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience 
  • WMS implementation experience
