Senior Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility

The Social Responsibility team for Disney’s Consumer Products, Games, and Publishing (CPGP) division supports the company’s mission to conduct our business and create our products in an ethical manner while bringing the magic of Disney storytelling into the daily lives of families and fans around the world. We promote environmental stewardship, community engagement and philanthropy to inspire kids and families to create a brighter tomorrow.


The purpose of the Senior Manager, Social Responsibility is to lead the division’s charitable giving, cause marketing and pro-social campaigns, voluntEAR projects and related employee engagement programs. The Senior Manager, Social Responsibility will ideate and execute social cause programs tied to CPGP products and experiences that deliver measurable impact on our brand, business and society. 


Responsibilities: 

Social Responsibility Strategy and Communications

Develop social impact programs for CPGP businesses and communicate the division’s social responsibility work through internal and external channels

  • Ideate and execute social responsibility strategies for each CPGP line of business
  • Lead cross-functional business teams to develop and implement domestic and global campaigns on a range of social and environmental causes, including cause marketing programs tied to key product launches and company celebrations
  • Evaluate third party cause marketing proposals and review communications for approved programs
  • Work with communications teams to create, review, and distribute messaging about Disney’s social impact work, both internally and externally
  • Plan in-person and virtual VoluntEAR opportunities for CPGP teams
  • Work with teams to orchestrate virtual and in-person CSR events from internal trainings to public-facing media moments


Charitable Giving

Lead the division’s charitable giving strategy

  • Create and manage charitable giving budget, review charitable support proposals, and oversee grantmaking process in alignment with TWDC’s giving strategy and guidelines
  • Manage relationships with nonprofit organizations
  • Socialize charitable giving strategy and guide teams to place product donations


Reputation Management

Provide expertise on social and environmental issues

  • Analyze and provide recommendations on business issues related to social and environmental causes 
  • Review program concepts and communications related to environmental sustainability
  • Research and recommend nonprofit organizations for collaboration in CSR space


Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in philanthropy, cause marketing, communications, or non-profit management
  • Some experience with volunteer management and/or employee engagement programs
  • Advanced presentation skills with Keynote and Powerpoint
  • Experienced with MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated and independent
  • Effective relationship building skills with key stakeholders
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience working under pressure with the ability to adjust priorities as needed
  • Positive attitude and creative problem solver
  • Attention to detail and thoughtful approach to work 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of retail environments and product licensing process 
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Experience managing others


Required Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 


Preferred Education

  • MBA or Master’s Degree
