Senior Manager, Communications

TelevisaUnivision’s Content Publicity team is seeking a Senior Manager, Communications (PR & Publicity), to lead the publicity programs/campaigns and media relations for TelevisaUnivision's music initiatives including tentpole award shows, special music events programming, and Uforia Music Live Events. The Senior Manager partners with programming stakeholders to strategize, align, plan, and execute campaigns aimed at amplifying and distinguishing the company’s award-winning music tentpole award shows and special music events, in both Spanish and English language media.


Individual will report to the Vice President, Content Publicity, who is based in Miami, FL. This role calls for an experienced and creative public relations professional who is familiar with the Hispanic entertainment and music industry. You have the skills to understand both the big picture and the tactical execution.


YOUR DAY-DAY:

  • Develop and manage communications strategy and publicity campaigns to support the Company’s four music award tentpoles, including Premio Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud, the Latin GRAMMY Awards, Latin American Music Awards, and the Uforia Live music series and experiences.
  • Create campaigns that entail story development, editorial outreach, events, digital content strategy, and strategic influencer partnerships to tell the Univision and Uforia content narratives across platforms.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams (enterprise, consumer and integrations, and talent) to leverage promotional materials and media buys, identify storytelling opportunities, and secure media coverage.
  • Anticipate and understand consumer media and social media trends to proactively seed stories.
  • Develop and distribute timely and relevant materials including news releases, photos and video assets.
  • Work closely with all areas of the Communications team to cross pollinate initiatives.
  • Prep executives and talent for speaking opportunities and media interviews for shows.


YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in public relations or other relevant business field
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Existing media relationships with editors and journalists covering the entertainment industry
  • Experience working with talent.
  • Develop and edit key messages, press releases, executive remarks, fact sheets and other press materials in English and Spanish.
  • Experience working closely with editorial leaders and senior executives
  • Experience leveraging social media platforms to amplify and promote projects such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of emotional intelligence; effective at interacting and building relationships at all levels within a matrix organization
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain focus and confidentiality
  • Media industry experience in television is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish (read and write) a plus
