Senior Legal Counsel

Santa Monica, CA

The Senior Legal Counsel – Data Privacy, Technology & Canada will serve two main functions: (1) provide strategic legal advice with respect to Red Bull’s data privacy and technology issues across the entire business; and (2) provide general legal support to Red Bull Canada. This position will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial transactions within the United States (data and technology) and Canada (all areas). This position will work closely with Red Bull’s general commercial legal team, as well as the media legal team, IP/brand enforcement legal team and regulatory teams, and interface directly with a wide range of clients.

DATA PRIVACY/TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT

  • Provide accurate and relevant legal support for a variety of data and technology-related products and transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate various agreements, including for the licensing of technology, the development of technology, the acquisition of advertising media, the engagement of analytics and insights technology and data vendors, and the development of business and consumer-facing technology products, as well as creating and updating templates for day-to-day operations.
  • Advise the business with respect to a full range of legal and business issues, including with respect to technology and data privacy-related laws and regulations.
  • Help the business grow and mature by counseling and educating lawyer and non-lawyer colleagues on company strategy, workflows, and best practices to encourage their development and compliance with data and technology legal issues.

  • PROVIDE ACCURATE AND RELEVANT LEGAL SUPPORT FOR A VARIETY OF BENEFITS-RELATED TRANSACTIONS AND OPERATIONAL MATTERS.
  • Draft and negotiate various benefits agreements for the Talent Department, as well as create and update templates for day-to-day operations.


CANADA SUPPORT

  • Provide accurate and relevant legal support for a variety of transactions, operations, and litigation matters across the entire Canadian business, including Marketing, Sales, Talent, and Operations.
  • Draft and negotiate various agreements for the Canada team, as well as create and update templates for day-to-day operations.
  • Manage outside counsel, including with respect to litigation matters in coordination with US litigation team.


Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:

5-7 years of experience practicing corporate or transactional law, In-House or Law Firm (preferably AmLaw 100).Experience with drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements. Experience with or subject matter knowledge of advertising and data privacy-related laws and regulations.Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills.Project management skills.Detail-oriented. Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a high volume, fast-paced environment.Ability to work efficiently and with minimal supervision.Ability to meet demanding deadlines without sacrificing the quality of work product.Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both business and creative personnel.Team player willing to work with other attorneys and staff at all levels. Excellent problem-solving skills and pragmatic legal judgment.Ability to prioritize dynamic workload and effectively meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A high degree of flexibility and availability to travel as needed.


Education Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.), current member in good standing, or registered in-house counsel, with the California Bar.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • English
