Senior Environmental Scientist

Miami, FL

We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist to join the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice in Miami, Florida.

 

The Senior Environmental Scientist will be responsible for managing and executing NEPA compliance and environmental permitting-related tasks for transportation projects. Specific tasks may include analysis and preparation of environmental reports, ecological field surveys including determining wetland jurisdiction lines, GIS analysis, as well as review and coordination of NEPA documents and agency approvals. The ideal candidate will have experience with various computer software packages, ArcGIS, FDOT’s SWEPT, Environmental Screening Tool, ProjectSuite, and ERC; and strong written and oral communication skills. The Senior Environmental Scientist will have the ability to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environment. Position may require applicants to work at FDOT District office in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master of Environmental Science, Biology, Zoology, Environmental/Civil Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited university
  • At least 12 years of experience within the environmental transportation field with project management experience
  • NEPA process and environmental permitting experience as it relates to transportation projects in South Florida
  • Skilled using software applications including Microsoft Office applications; ArcGIS and MicroStation experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision
  • Ability to work collaboratively in the client’s office as necessary
  • Strong work ethic aligning with the company's mission and core values
