Senior Director, Writing

Noggin from Nick Jr. is a leading interactive learning service for families with young kids. We help children develop skills, knowledge and passions through play with the characters they love. We also give parents important tools to help their kids thrive. A multi-platform direct-to-consumer offering, Noggin reaches families in the domestic market through standalone mobile apps, connected TV apps, and add-on channels. We are building a team of highly motivated, diverse and capable individuals who are eager to work in a startup-like environment within a large media company. We need innovators and self-starters who are passionate about playful learning and comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative and innovative organization.


Noggin is looking for a veteran writer to lead the development of written content across Noggin’s original productions, including original short-form series, games and more. Across this diverse slate of content, the Sr. Director, Writing will develop and deploy a unique and compelling voice.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production of scripts for linear and interactive content
  • Reinforce narrative development across Noggin’s original content
  • Develop and lead a team of writers, including review and editing of drafts and establishing a feedback loop with partners throughout the creative process
  • Assist with content brainstorms and operate writers room as needed
  • Serve as the character ambassador across Noggin to ensure that our IP is on brand in content and marketing
  • Review new pitches for linear and interactive content


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of creative media writing (At least partially in the kid space)


Additional Qualifications

  • Comfortable writing and editing show scripts and copy for interactive content
  • Impeccable command of grammar and writing styles
  • Missing commas should instill dread
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in game writing a plus
  • Sense of humor (We really mean it for this job)
