The Senior Director, Supply Chain will take the lead in developing the internal and external supply plan that supports the organization’s deliverables in terms of revenue, customer satisfaction, and controls. You will be responsible for managing a team of high performing individuals who are interfacing with co-manufacturers and vendors for all direct and in-direct materials in support of the manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is energetic, collaborative, strategic, detail oriented and forward-thinking.  


This position is based out of Stayner, Ontario.  


What you’ll be doing:    

  • Managing the company’s production scheduling within multiple facilities to limit stockouts and ensure product mix and efficient line utilization in collaboration with tactical Operations
  • Responsible for creating long and short-term planning modules, coordinating inventory control movement and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop systems and processes which will ensure a smooth flow of inventory through the warehouse and distribution network, supported by timely and accurate system transactions, to ensure perpetual finished goods production
  • Develop and implement key material flow strategies and procedures for cycle count and space utilization.
  • Day-to-day operational management of the supply chain functions, including material buying, demand planning/supply planning, supporting manufacturing/co-pack manufacturing, production planning, inventory planning and management, operations, quality, engineering, distribution/transportation, and order to cash responsibilities and customer supply chain relationships
  • Execute the Operational requirements of the S&OP processes across the organization.
  • Develop, outline and execute the requirements associated with the New Product and innovation process, injecting supply chain analytics to improve product life cycle management and new product introduction
  • Anticipate and implement necessary changes to supply chain strategy and process to support growth.This includes capacity forecasting as it relates to values stream costs and metrics, Production planning – both material and manning
  • Build and manage strategic external partnerships with customers, co-packers, vendors, and other strategic partners. Actively partner with key strategic suppliers to ensure two-way, collaborative relationships that deliver greater levels of innovation and operational competitive advantage.
  • Assist in the creation/development of standard operating procedures to help build best-in-class controls around material flow, internal controls and Inventory management.
  • Participate and co-lead the development of best-in-class cycle and year-end count procedures.
  • Develop the demand management strategy to support the companies commercial and supply chain objectives
  • Own long-range North American Demand plans for all product families
  • Lead and develop people capabilities by setting clear objectives and accountability within the team
  • Drive team performance through Strategic value stream improvements including the development and use of KPIs for team that help identify constraint and waste and measure improvement
  • Quantify risks and opportunities to the commercial plans and supply chain objectives.


You’ll need to have:    

  • 10+ years’ experience in supply chain management, with at least 7 years in a leadership role with a demonstrated track record of success in developing a complex supply chain organization to support growth and performance improvement. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Supply Chain Management, logistics, or related field
  • Expertise in supply chain and operations gained from within consumer products, pharmaceutical, or other relevant manufacturing organizations.
  • Experience in developing a strategic plan for the operational functions which aligns with corporate strategies and an ability to clearly articulate such a vision.
  • Proven experience using data (KPIs) in a measurable way to achieve a specific strategic result that is relevant to overall strategy.
  • Able to demonstrate deep functional knowledge and experience successfully running all aspects of the supply chain; sourcing, manufacturing, distribution/logistics, demand planning/supply planning, forecasting, continuous improvement, and engineering
  • Able to work collaboratively with a communication style that is direct and transparent
  • Experience of initiating and managing investigations of product/business risks and concerns
  • A strategic thinker, problem-solver and effective project manager of cross-functional teams who is comfortable with rolling up one’s sleeves and being hands-on
  • Able to communicate recommendations in a logical and easily understood manner to board members, C-level executives, and employees at all levels
  • Natural problem solver; figuring out how to make processes, systems, functions, and experiences better
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask and to meet multiple, often conflicting, deadlines
  • Able to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills
  • SAP knowledge (or similar tier-1 ERP/MRP software)
  • In-depth knowledge of market analysis and metrics with strong financial literacy and analytical skills
  • APICS, Six Sigma, Lean or Industry certifications a plus
