Senior Director, Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy

The Strategic Partnerships & Philanthropy team leads our corporate philanthropic investment portfolio which includes cash grants from both the Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation, Comcast Corporation, NBCUniversal, as well as in-kind support and select event sponsorships.


The Senior Director will serve in a critical role building, refining, and managing our investment portfolio, cultivating internal and external stakeholders and partnerships, and positioning Comcast as a leader in advancing digital equity both in our hometown of Philadelphia, and across the United States.


Responsibilities: 

  • Create and implement grantmaking strategies aligned to the business and Project UP—Comcast NBCUniversal’s $1B commitment to advance digital equity. Project UP encompasses the programs and community partnerships across Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Sky that connect people to the internet, advance economic mobility, and open doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, and creators.  
  • Source and cultivate relationships with external partners, including national and regional non-profits. Ensure alignment with business objectives and foster connections amongst partners and internal stakeholders.  
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders including I&I Leadership, HR, DEI, Communications, External Affairs, Sustainability, etc., as well as work across our various brands including Xfinity, NBC, Telemundo, Sky & Universal to advance and promote the company’s social impact efforts. 
  • Establish research and evaluation priorities and identify partners that help better define key problems within our focus areas and assess our efforts' effectiveness. 
  • Build and develop new strategies to align to business priorities and support our philanthropic commitments. 
  • Work closely with communications team and other internal partners to develop thought leadership opportunities that promote our philanthropic impact and align to the needs and pace of the business. Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for Project UP.  
  • Support in furthering team culture and ensure equitable processes and structures across the team.  
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications: 

  • 10+ years working in a CSR, social impact or related function  
  • Must have experience leading a grant portfolio, developing strategy and managing multiple stakeholders 
  • Must be skilled at working across teams and external stakeholders and finding paths to pursue common objectives 
  • Experience with event management and planning 
  • Comfort in Public Speaking  
  • People management experience  
  • Background in, or experience with, communications is preferred
  • Ability to bring a solutions and equity-oriented mindset 
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and develop creative solutions  
  • Must be in Philadelphia Headquarters location 4 days a week (1 day/week may be remote) 
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends to attend internal and partner conferences, galas, and events  
  • Extensive U.S. travel required (about 50%)
