Senior Director, Operations

As the Senior Director of Operations, you will play a critical role in driving the core operations across the various company functions including Manufacturing, R&D Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Commercialization, Creative, Product Management, Product Development, Supply Chain, Finance, People Ops, Project Management and Legal and Business Affairs. Your strong process engineering and optimization experience will enable you to define many of the company’s most critical processes and work closely with the most senior executives across the organization as we scale the company. You will be involved in directing the most strategic company initiatives and will lead a diverse team of program/project managers, system integrators, operations managers, and process engineers. Your self-motivated, driven and dedicated nature enables you to work within a collaborative culture.


Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Drive a culture of operational excellence, implementing strategies that improve overall consistency and excellence through standardization and automation
  • Effectively lead a diverse team and influence talent across multiple departments in a matrixed environment optimizing labor, resources, and output to achieve or exceed company goals
  • Implement and refine company systems and process improvements to increase productivity, speed, and quality
  • Lead program/project management, implementing a governance framework to optimize cross functional collaboration and effectively execute projects in a fluid, complex, fast paced environment
  • Develop and implement company and department level KPIs across the organization


Requirements: 

  • Excellent people and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated experience in process optimization, innovation and continuous improvement
  • Proven understanding of business operations and an appreciation for how to prioritize among demands and balance the levers that make a complex business run smoothly and productively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent decision-making, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated empathetic and inspirational leadership of a diverse set of individuals and teams with 8+ years of leadership experience. A culture-carrier, team player and motivator
  • 14+ years of operational experience
  • 8+ years of program and project management experience
  • Development and implementation of Operations strategy; including KPIs in a visual management system
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong teams and track record of personal engagement and relationship with colleagues, direct reports, employees, customers, and suppliers
  • Conflict management, analytical, and diplomacy skills
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall and Agile methods


Preferred Requirements:

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts
  • Experience in production of an apparel and footwear operations
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Understanding of “Smart” operations management and Factory 4.0
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure fast-paced environment
