Senior Designer

Remote Playa Vista, CA

The Senior Designer will play a key role creating innovative customer experiences in a responsive design framework across all web presences including social media and paid media for Beauty. The ideal candidate will have vast experience creating visually rich and interactive experiences for quarterly product launches for landing pages and social media. This role will work closely with a team of passionate creatives to drive the Honest Brand to our consumer. Our ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a good handle on the latest design trends and beauty design experience.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design strategy and concepts for quarterly Beauty campaigns.
  • Oversee the photo shoots of product and Honest content including shot list, call sheets and deliverables for Honest.com, paid ads and social media posts
  • Help establish and maintain a consistent brand identity and customer experience
  • Work innovatively within our brand style guide
  • Exhibit an attention to detail - looking after every point, font, space, and color to make sure that it adds value and delight to the customer's experience
  • Center designs around the consumer: identifying who will use our product, what they will use it for, and what value they will gain
  • Thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing beauty market and environment
  • Work closely with the beauty brand team on product launch campaigns and how they come to life within a creative execution
  • Provide creative strategy concepts and designs for applications that drive reach, engagement, and monetization of new product launches and quarterly campaigns
  • Provide conceptual, design, and copy direction to the design team to ensure execution of creative strategy is met 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of professional design and development experience
  • Possess a solid understanding of front-end development and design aptitude
  • Proven ability in developing responsive sites with heavy front-end user interaction
  • Ability to make good, effective design decisions
  • Solid understanding of browser-specific rendering
  • Experience working in an e-commerce environment
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with jQuery/Javascript and front end coding a plus
  • Online portfolio of high-quality interactive experiences (e-commerce sites and transactional landing pages a major plus)
  • Passionate about the web, e-commerce, mobile, and the overall customer experience
  • Strong understanding of established responsive web standards and UI best practices, and a curiosity about emerging technologies
  • A self-directed person who knows what needs to be done and operates with urgency, focus, and discipline
  • Strong organizational skills with extreme attention to detail
  • Able to thrive in a high growth, fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal
  • Hands-on; completes tasks and dependable
  • Strong team player who can build strong relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Ethical, fair, and of high integrity
