Senior Counsel, Compliance & Investigations

New York, NY

IPG is seeking a Senior Counsel, Compliance & Investigations who will provide day-to-day compliance and investigative support to IPG companies globally.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on legal compliance matters, providing sound legal advice and operational compliance support
  • Coordinate all aspects of internal investigations, including the development and implementation of investigative work plans, fact gathering and analysis, witness interviews, and advising management on investigation findings
  • Report and escalate potential compliance issues for investigations
  • Assist with the development and implementation of internal policies, procedures, and controls
  • Support other legal compliance team responsibilities, including third party risk management, FCPA/AML/sanctions compliance, and internal policies
  • Assist with employee training relating to compliance and business ethics
  • Work closely with company leaders in other disciplines, including HR and internal audit


EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • 5+ years legal compliance experience including experience with internal investigations
  • Demonstrated experience in working with legal, finance, HR, internal audit, and ethics teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong policy, procedure, controls, and reporting experience
  • Knowledgeable about general compliance domains including third-party due diligence, FCPA, AML/sanctions, and data privacy and security
  • Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple threads at once, including large scale initiatives across many teams
  • Ability to be comfortable leading complex projects across new and evolving stakeholder groups with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organization, collaboration, problem solving, and communication skills


SALARY RANGE:

The salary range for this position is $190,000 to $220,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
