We are looking for an experienced in-house lawyer to join the Roche Diagnostics Solutions Legal Team.
You will be part of a global network of legal professionals and support various aspects of product strategy, development, and manufacturing for Roche Diagnostics.
You will provide legal services to multiple areas of our business, including partnering/business development, R&D, product lifecycle management, manufacturing, and supply chain. This will include support for one or more leadership teams responsible for particular product areas within the business.
To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to assess and anticipate legal and business risks associated with complex projects and innovative diagnostic products. You need to be able to communicate well-reasoned recommendations to senior executives and business stakeholders clearly and concisely. You should be comfortable with calibrating and advising on acceptable levels of risk commensurate with broader business objectives. You will be expected to structure, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements and develop and recommend innovative solutions to complex legal and business issues.
Responsibilities
- Support complex, international business projects employing considerable independent
- legal judgment, experience, and analysis.
- Provide strategic assistance and guidance on a variety of legal matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including collaboration agreements, development agreements, licenses, software development agreements, supply agreements, research agreements, global distribution agreements, and service agreements.
- Manage disputes and litigation arising from your assigned business areas.
- Interact with colleagues across Roche, to determine compliant yet practical legal responses and planning to meet business needs.
- Develop and present legal training on various topics of relevance to and in support of business needs.
Qualification
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Fluency in English
Experience/Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience (post-bar exam) in a multinational company or at a respected law firm, preferably in the life sciences industry (e.g. diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry).
- Professional experience in handling cases in R&D, business collaborations, licensing, supply and distribution/sales, and data privacy.
- Solid knowledge in the following areas of law: contracts, competition law, IT/software law, litigation/dispute resolution.
- International academic or work experience is a plus.
- Strong team orientation and purpose-driven.
- Hands-on mentality and pragmatism: looking at the bigger picture without losing sight of
- the details.
- Passionate to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Able to communicate clearly, convincingly, and diplomatically.
- Familiarity with digital health and data privacy issues.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of
Arizona is $135,400 - $251,4. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
