The NA Communications Senior Manager will support the creation and drive compelling and strategic stories and campaigns that map to key business initiatives for the NA Converse business. Work will focus on articulating product, brand and corporate stories that position Converse as a forward-thinking company redefining how today’s youth interacts with brands.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you, you’ll be working with a highly motivated team across Communications and other business functions, at both the Geography and Global level.
As the NA Communications Senior Manager, you will partner with the NA Communications Director and key business stakeholders to develop and drive integrated communications programs across the North America Geography and its key territories. You will establish and strengthen authentic connections with external audiences across NA to advance the Converse narrative through clear, consistent, breakthrough brand, purpose, and product storytelling.
A typical week might include conceptualizing and managing detailed project plans and timelines for campaigns, initiatives and events, including seasonal press previews, market appointments, and product launch events. You may be asked to support the development of creative content that inspires and delivers innovation, while maintaining quality and consistency across all communications. Or, it might include engaging with strategic culture, sneaker, fashion, lifestyle and business media and media influencers along with overseeing and optimizing the brand’s strategic editorial/influencer seeding program.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Converse operates within a matrixed structure. You will directly report to the NA Communications Director as a part of a NA Communications Team.
As part of the Global Communications organization, you will engage and liaise with your Global Communications counterparts at both the Global level, and across Converse’s other Geography teams.
As a member of the NA Geography team, you will partner closely with the other functional and territory leads, particularly Marketing, to both provide counsel and develop and implement strategic communications planning.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, business or related field, or a combination of education and experience.
- A minimum 6 years strong media relations, corporate communications, brand marketing experience, or related experience.
- Strategic and creative thinker with strong project, time and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated experience building media contacts and relationships with top-tier consumer, fashion and lifestyle media with a proven record of delivering high-impact placements.
- Excellent communicator and collaborator with the ability to work cross functionally.
- Understanding of the evolving media landscape, especially digital.
