Senior Communications Manager

This role leads communications for our global Bioindustrial business where we develop and offer nature-derived and sustainable products for a broad spectrum of applications and industries. 


In this role, you will collaborate with the Bioindustrial business and global communications teams to develop and execute strategies and tactics in support of business growth, protect and advance Cargill’s reputation and drive engaging employee communications aligned with the group’s strategy. 


The ideal candidate will have significant experience running business communications anchored in sustainability, explaining complex technical stories through accessible and engaging narratives and will demonstrate an agile mindset able to support this business’ evolving needs. 


Key Accountabilities

  • Develop strategic internal and external communications plans, strategies, and messaging to support business growth 
  • Influence subject matter experts and senior leaders, including advising leadership on effective communications for employees, customers and external partners
  • Partner with communications colleagues and functional partners to execute in a global, matrixed organization
  • Write and produce compelling content and events to communicate and report on progress against key business objectives or company goals to various internal and external audiences 
  • You will work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong business knowledge with a proven ability to use communications in support of business strategy 
  • Curiosity about business and a strong understanding of business dynamics / financial performance
  • At least 8 years of related work experience
  • Understanding and awareness of key economic trends and market factors and how they impact Cargill’s businesses
  • Understanding of sustainability trends and impact on companies’ innovation and marketing strategies 
  • Understanding of how separate functions work together in a matrixed company  
  • Ability to translate complicated topics and business needs into easily understood language, strategies, and actions to meet business goals and objectives 
  • Proficiency with AP style 
  • Experienced in providing strategic counsel to subject level experts and senior leaders (MDs and Group Leader level)
  • Experience working in a global company
